What a Week, So much Sadness

Every Moment

Just wanted to stop in and write a short blog to all out there in BuddySlim.

For everyone new, you have found a family of people full of love and support.  This is such a unique group of people, one of a kind :)

This past week has been one of the saddest I’ve seen here.

People losing jobs, losing homes, arrogent bosses, flu/virus’s, people losing people (Anj ):(  too much sickness and pain (Shanna)

As I got in bed last night my prayer list was longer then ever and I cried all the way through.

In my world here I have this very special friend who’s life has been in termoil for a long time now.  As I talked to my children on the phone last night, I discovered they have no food.  My heart feels broken…my stomach in knots.

All I can say is GOD IS GOOD…and we all will get through this somehow, someway.

Lets pull together for all those in need.  Today I’m taking some of my grocery money to help my kids, plus I’m going to purchase food for the local food banks.

Just think if everyone could donate 1 can of food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  What a difference it would make:)

Praying for you all to have a good weekend….success in your weight loss journey, and some relaxation.  I think we all need that :)

Love you one and all

Jane

Prayers needed for our buddy Shanna/Buttercup Please Read

Good afternoon buddys.

I wish I could write a blog which is happy and full of fun, but today I received some sad news.

Our long time buddy Buttercup received a phone call on Tuesday evening.   It was concerning her Uncle Mike (if you remember he was very sick)  His cancer has come back —-  in 2 spots.   One is behind the spine, the other on one os his lungs.

He will have more surgery in May.

PLEASE PLEASE could every one find a moment to offer prayers to Shanna’s Uncle Mike.

Together, prayer is very powerful.

Mike’s full name is       Mike Pierce

Thank you buddys, I hope we can all team together for Shanna and her family.

Hello —– Its Wednesday

To all my buddys here….a big super duper hug…..and a pat on the back for all the hard work.  You all just amaze me and lift my spirits.  Your determination and strength is unstoppable.  You are truly my inspiration to lose this weight.  I know God is holding my hand as always giving me that needed strength to get through this battle,  but you ALLof you  are encouraging me, and for that I thank you. ((((((((((((Hugs to everyone))))))))))))))))))

I am having a difficult time getting my exercise logged?  I thought I had done it in the past, but I can’t seem to understand it this time…..duh….a brain fart I spose….LOL!!!

If anyone has an extra minute, and could guide me through the exercise tracker, I’d appreciate it.

Thank you one and all for all the advice and opinions of Weight Watchers.  I’ve decided the money could be an issue.  Money is so tight, and I know it is for everyone.  With that 11.00 per week charge, that would buy me alot of fresh vegtables and fruits :)

2 days before  the weekend  YIPPEE YAHOO!!!

Wishing you all fun days ahead, filled with healthy snacks, and lots of good blessings :)

Hmmm, attended my first free Weight Watchers Meeting….any input?

One BIG shout out for WEDNESDAY!!!!

Hip hip hooray….can you believe its halfway through the week?  seems impossible to me.

My weigh in will be Friday, and I’m feeling a bit shaky.  I weigh myself here at home, then today I attended my “free” Weight Watchers meeting and of course with all my clothes I weigh more.

Thank you all for your support….I’ve heard 1 - 2 pounds a week is best.  I just see others here losing 3 -5 pounds and I’m amazed!!!  Congrats to all of you!!

At Weight Watchers this morning, I was telling the instructor (in private) how I had lost 8 pounds in 8-9 weeks, and she too agreed, I need to be more patient…not my best virtue :(  but I’m learning!!

Sooooo….the question is now, Do I join?

I’ve been a on-line Weight Watcher fan, and also right after my heart attack, they had an offer for a mail order that would contain all the information and tools needed to do it at home.  Of course neither worked for me.

Maybe with a combination of BuddySlim, family support (esp husband) and Weight Watchers support, I can do it.

Another interesting fact….if you follow Weight Watchers plan…..in 52 weeks  you can lose up to 100 pounds, some have lost more  YIPPEE!!!!

So any suggestions, coments, ideas, opinions would be great!!

As always….I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!

Have a great day :)

May God make your day picture-perfect in every way.

I am soooooooooooo Frustrated right now

Good Afternoon Buddys!!! Are you all wearing green??????  If not watch out for those pinches  LOL!!! I told my hubby, make sure to wear green or you’ll be getting pinched by all those pretty ladies at work.  He just laughed and said “Honey, that only happens in 1st or 2nd grade.  I said HUH??????? NOT…”  We’ll see when he gets home  hehehehe, I’ll sure be ready to pinch away….LOL!!!

Its been such a while, I haven’t been here since Friday of last week Uggghhh…..too long.  Lots of catching up to do  LOL!!

My title explains it all….I’m sooooooooooo frustrated right now.  Not sure which path to take at this point.

I started on a serious weight loss journey the end of January.  No cheating, no alcohol, no fast food (unless it was counted in my caloric intake)  exercise 6 out of 7 days.

I’ve only lost 8 pounds since the end of January. Thats going on 8 weeks.  I know they say 1 pound a week is preferred….but I’m not preffering it ladies.

I will attend a free Weight Watchers meeting on Wednesday morning.  Maybe that will do the trick.  I know WHAT to eat and WHEN to eat, but it seems like it should be much quicker.  Oh well, one day at a time…..right?????? OF COURSE!!! but I’m still frustrated :(

My Husband and I are completely rid of any carbonation. We’ve had fun trying all the flavored waters, (just for a treat) but we still drink mostly plain water which fortunately I love :)

The propel was suggested by a close friend, I’ve tried it before, but didn’t remember how GOOD it really is!!!

Well off to ride my bike….I’m going to just work harder at this, because I’M NOT GIVING UP THIS TIME.

My apologies for anyone I’ve missed this weekend.  I pray my buddys are  well.

:)           A giggle a day keeps the gloomies away!

:)            Every smile makes you a day younger. (Chinese Proberb)

:)             Everyone smiles in the same language.

:)             Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves…for they will never cease to be amused!!

Progress…Love… Peace….Friends

Happy Friday Buddys!!!  Yup another weekend is upon us….how will we all do?

We’ll all be great, because we are a part of the BuddySlim family “Proud Smile”

My progress has been slow, but the scale is showing hope.  My exercise has really gotten better :)

I have God to thank for all this strength…I thank my husband and all my special Buddys ;)

I’m wishing you all a wonderful weekend full of fun and surprises….blessings….and lots of smiles :)

Every morning I put my playlist on…love it because I cannever get enough music.

If you get just a minute, there is a beautiful song that I think everyone would enjoy.

http://www.playlist.com     Search     Tommy Shane Steiner      Song…..What if She is an Angel.

This really hits close to home with everyone struggling with the economy.

Ok on a happy note, lets all make good choices….eat healthy and get some exercise in and most of all give lots of hugs!!!

We have finally BEAT every ADDICTION we’ve had!!!

Good Morning Everybody!!!!  The sun is finally shining here and it make me happy!!!!

My husband and I have been working sooooooooo hard to get rid of all the bad addictions  we had.

My husband is a coffee lover, so that is one he can’t possibly give up….”COFFEE LUSH”  lol!!!

I hardly drink 1/2 cup maybe once a week, so I’m coffee free (almost)

I used to drink Diet Coke…….way too much….and any other soda I could get my hands on. Same with my hubby.

Then we realized how bad the soda was ( I really knew but was in denial) so we switched to sparkling fruit flavored waters (carbonated)  Guess I can’t get enough of the bubbly, fizzing water…the CARBONATION!!!!

I wrote Dr. Marc and asked his opinion on Diet Sodas, and Carbonated water.  He told me Carbonation depletes the bodys calcium and there is no way to get it back. Plus it gives you the full feeling, for me bloating :(

So we’ve finally made the next step…..Aquafina Flavor Splash….0 cal…0 nothing…except 65 mg sodium.  No carbonation, and we only have it as a treat at night :)

Sooooooooooooo  all in all, no nicotine (will be

2 years mothers day)  no alcohol……that was a problem :(   no soda/no sparkly drinks :)  and my biggest addiction!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FOOD AND MORE FOOD….FRIED, GREASY, FATTY, SWEET, SALTY, ANY KIND OF FOOD :(

I’m proud to say we’ve done this, could have never done it without my hubby by my side and all of you helping me.

Love you Guys

Smiling is infectious, you catch it like the flu,

When someone smiled at me today,

I started smiling too.

I passed around the corner

and someone saw my grin

When he smiled I realized

I’d passed it on to him

I thought about that smile

then I realized its worth

A single smile, just like mine,

Could travel round the earth.

So, if you feel a smile begin

don’t leave it undetected

Let’s start an epidemic quick,

and get the world infected :)        :)         :)         :)

Your Personal Journal?

ImageIts  Monday, rise and shine buddyslimmers!!! We have much to accomplish today.  This is YOUR week to shine.  I think I’m shining this morning  “walking to the mirror looking”     yup shining Jane ;)  Ready to face whatever might come my way.  Hold on gang, here we gooooooooooooooo!!!!  Yup Its aImage  day :)

This weekend my husband and I went on our normal shopping trip.  Always looking for healthy snacks, sad to say I think we checked out just about everyone.  Wish they made a low cal, low sodium store.  I know they have sections in the grocery store but I mean a store just dedicated to people with health issues.  Oh well, maybe someday :)

Image  Its so wonderful to have BuddySlim….a safe place filled with loving friends.  I thank God for this site….again thank you Dr. Marc for making it possible.

On our shopping trip this weekend, I saw a beautiful journal, it was reduced to $4.20  very affordable.  On the cover it read Trust in the Lord with all Your Heart….it had a flower shaped like heart with a bird on it.

I was sold…loved it….needed it ……wanted it…..and yup  bought it.

I’ve always wanted to leave something behind for my children.  You see being adopted does bring a small amount of wonder and loneliness.  Some days you ask “why” more then others, but I would give anything for my biological mother to have left me something.

Anyway, now I’m babbling.  This beautiful journal will be my thoughts, prayers and feelings for each day :) Image

For me this is just one more way to motivate me and be honest at the end of the day by writing everything out…happiness, sadness, failure, whatever the day brought.

Hope your weekends went well, we did pretty good on eating.  I am up to 40 - 45 mins exercise almost everyday.  Feeling full of life….finally!!!Image

Please have a day full of fun and success.  Enjoy all the blessings we take for granted.  I need to say a big THANK YOU for my faithful buddies.  Don’t give up….you will SHINE :)

Love you all

Jane

Friday Shoutout!!!

anweek48.JPG

Only in for a minute.  Wanted to THANK YOU all you tried to help me with the whole carbonation thing.  DUH…I should have googled it, I google everything else  LOL!!! and everyone else who took their time, I loved the input :)

Also thank you Teresa for giving me all the details of your experience. ;)

I’ve learned its way to expensive, can’t possibly afford it even with insurance.

Plus I reached a time in my life where I BELIEVE ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE IF YOU BELIEVE!!!!

I feel empowered….motivated….I’m watching the scale go down instead of up.

I owe it to all my BuddySlimmers who have supported me and continue to support and to God who continues to hold  my hand all the way through!!!

Have a great weekend

Love ya all Jane

Please Help!!!! Any advice or opinions will be so much appreciated.

A huge Good Morning to all the buddyslimmers out there :)  Hope everyone has had a great week.  One more day ladies and gents :)

Any one have fun plans?

Ok…down to business….I know how bad soda is for you….whether it be diet or regular.  I’ve also heard its the carbonation that works bad on your cells.

We stumbled across this wonderful Fruit flavored drink but it is carbonated.  It has no calories, no nothing, and my hubby and I love it.

Is the carbonation in that the same as pop?  Is that also bad for you? This is probably a stupid question, but is carbonation all the same??????????  “confused look”

Second……Has anyone here attended a Weight Loss Medically Supervised Program.  Not the ones they advertise on TV, but run by doctors who specialize in obesity?

I’m going to an orientation tonight,…..CAN’T WAIT!!!! and see whats it all about.  I just thought if anyone had been through one, or knew someone who has been through one could give me ideas.

One more thing, has anyone seen our Tatiana lately?  I haven’t checked the forums because I know she’s busy there, but I’m worried if she is ok.

Thanks everybody who takes time to help me here.  You ALL ROCK!!!

Thanks guys, you are the ABSOLUTELY BEST!!!!!

With God All Things are Possible~~~

Gods not the

only one

whot loves you!!!
