Short & Sweet

White & Red Hearts Text Hugs Gifs Images - MySpace Layouts, MySpace GraphicsMorning Good Buddys!!! Thank you yesterday for all the kind encouraging words.  Its hard to admit when you’ve messed up :(

Although I picked myself back up….still doing South Beach but in a “Revised Jane” way  :)  LOL LOL!!!  Kind of a Phase II, with the opportunity to cheat only once a week and within certain guidelines.  I’ll be able to stick with this.  Seems when I’m told “what to do or not to do”  I tend to want to rebel  LOL!! something that goes back to my childhood!!

So Lou….I’m taking it small…one day at a time and here is a positive blog for today!!

I love you one and all my dear Buddys.  Life is just better knowing you are all here and we have each other to help and cheer on in the good days and in the bad days.  So on that happy note, Happy Weekend to all!!! Make healthy choices, but above all Cherrish the day, love your family and love yourself :)

Grrrrr…so so disappointed with myself these past few days.

I haven’t been a faithful Southbeacher :(

We’ve only made a couple small mistakes but the scales say we’ve done worse.  On Tuesday we were watching Biggest Loser and for all that watched remember the popcorn part.  Yup 100 calorie popcorn by Orville Redenbacher.  The temptation was overwhelming as I’m missing the salty crunchy snacks.

Off to the kitchen I go, one for my hubby, one for me “sigh”  how bad could that be?  A few minutes later my hubby comes out of the bedroom with a big cheesy grin across his face and says “Honey you want a peep”  (leftover from Talans basket)  I wanted to throw something at him, but of course I quietly said, “it won’t hurt’ and had a 1/2 of a marshmallow peep.

I guess it could be worse, I haven’t dropped out of the club but I sure am making things harder.  I’m so impatient and want Phase II to arrive, I’m so sick of meat  Bllahhhhhhhhhhh.

I think I might become a vegetarian!!!

I didn’t want to let my partner Jo and all the other Southbeachers down…..so I’m just babbling here.  Had to get it out and down on paper.  Could have just disappeared but don’t want that.  So I’m going to give it my all, I may do some improvising to get through this.

I guess no matter what eating plan I finally find is a fit for me will work as long as I’m conscious of everything I eat.  I’ve learned one important thing about South Beach.   You become so aware of everything you put into your mouth.  My entire outlook on food has changed and for me this is AMAZING!!

So all you brave smart SOUTHBEACHERS…I say ROCK ON…..Lose those pounds….GET HEALTHY!!!!  I’m still here, just call me a half a SouthBeacher for now.  :)  Love you guys!!

True faith is always in Someone–in Jesus, in what He said, is saying, and in what He is doing.

Reinhard Bonnke

This righetousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.

Romans 3:22

Journal of a SouthBeacher

Eminem.jpgPicked this quote up online and wanted to share it.  How true it is.  We have to live today to its fullest.  Make as many healthy, happy choices as we can.  Love each other completely, never go to bed angry and always lend a helping hand :)

So here we are day 8 on Phase I South Beach.  I find if I have my meals planned ahead things run more smoothly.  Its when there is no plan I seem to stumble and fall :(

Today (this morning) is 6 ounces V8 juice (which I enjoy completely)  egg beaters with some diced ham and fat free cheese (which I’ve learned to enjoy)

Snack will be lowfat mozerella cheese stick and a handful of almonds

Dinner will be ground sirloin patty grilled with diced onion, diced pickles, leaf lettuce and tomatoe.  I’ll open a can of green beans to go along with.

Throughout the day will be 4 to 5 glasses of 8 ounces of water with maybe a 6 ounce glass of skim milk for dinner.

Snack after dinner will be celery sticks and cut cucumber.

I’ll say one thing about this diet, it is getting harder to be spontaneous.  It is so very rigid and I’m afraid when this is all said and done I will start to dislike meat Uuugggggghhhhhh.

But on the happy positive note I will lose the first large amount of weight on Phase I and more on Phase II, and I’m praying by that time my eating habits and outlook on eating will be all different.

Ok…lovely buddys of mine, its time for the treadmill!!! I’ll watch 30 mins of Regis and Kelly while I get my exercise in!!

Jo–I’m here…trying to hang in here, sounds like you are doing AWESOME!!

Faith is not what you see. Faith is what you know to be true from the Word.

We also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe.

The Day After

Woman In Rollers the big holiday weekend! Hows all my buddies doing?  Did we all stay on track like we planned?  Or maybe we cheated a little bit :)

Today was a big day for me.  7 Days of South Beach, 5 out of 7 I gave 110% and 2 of those days I slipped a little bit.  I’m so much more aware of everything and why I’m eating what I do.  Food is becoming less and less appealing.

I believe South Beach is a healthy choice for my eating plan, I’m just finding the food choices to be very boring and monotonous (sp?) but…………………….Starting at a whopping 218 pounds last Monday, this Monday morning I’m down to 214 lbs.  4 pounds down, I’ll take it but I know I could have done way better.

Earlier in the week I had actually lost 5 “sigh”  Oh well, week 2 here I come with a vengence!! LOL!!

Had Talans 2nd birthday party at my daughters on Saturday.  Left our house at 10:00 a.m., picked her up at work, got to the house around 11:00.  Started preparing the food and decorations.  Company started coming around noon.  We ended up with about 20 people, and more presents then you could imagine!! Had a ball.

We left around 3:30 and decided we DID NOT want to go home  LOL!! So we went to the movies and saw Horton Hears a Who!!! Loved it Loved it!!! Got home around 7:00, stopped in to see Dad.  Came to our home around 7:45, and started cleaning big time.  At 9:00 p.m. I was still coloring easter eggs!!!

Easter morning up at 9:00 a.m., hiding eggs for little Talan to find.  Putting turkey breast, ham and sweet potatoes into the oven.  Mashed the potatoes, cleaned the asparagus, set the table, and here we go at noon.  The house is filling up, and here comes my sweet baby Talan!!!

We got loads of pictures over the 2 days.  He’s talking more and more each time we see him!!

For Easter dinner I ate only turkey breast and ham….lots of asparagus and a big glass of water.  My poor husband just couldn’t keep his hands out of the candy dish…LOL!! I don’t seem to have that problem, my problem is bread…I DREAM BREAD!!!!

Ok buddies, I’ve babbled enough.  Hope my buddy Jo was successful on her first week with South Beach…and any others on SB……and of course all my Buddies on what plans works for you.  We all have one goal in common…TO GET HEALTHY!!!

I’m waiting and praying to see if today the 24th is my buddy Shanna’s BIG BIG DAY!!!

Love You Guys!!!

Then Enemy Almost Won Last Night

Embarrassed Only on for a quick minute this morning before I head out to take Dad for blood work.

Last night was probably the hardest night of all since my start of South Beach on Monday. I realize its only been 4 days, but for me to stick to anything past 2 days is a miracle  LOL!!

But seriously, boy oh boy last night was I just a little princess having a huge temper tantrum. I wanted a Sub…I wanted a Rum and Coke…and with the help of my husband I fought through the urges.

I tried to justify it from every direction (my talent you know) :)  but nope, my husband stood strong and I’m so thankful this morning as I see a difference on the scale.

I’m going to read blogs later buddys, do some catching up after I get home.  Hope everyone else is holding strong…Jo???? It looks like you might be struggling too “sigh”

I’ll Be Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Easter Dinner Suggestions Needed!!!

Phase 1 South Beacher  here looking for any and all suggestions for a yummy Easter dinner.

This will be a whole new way of eating in my house and I’m sure to shock my children…LOL!!!!

As of today my South Beach dinner will consist of Lean Ham, Asparagus, Sweet Potatoes (for the kids) Fresh Fruit (for the kids) Crescents (for the kids) and Brownies for desert.

This only leaves lean ham and asparagus for my husband and I as we follow South Beach.

I’d like to have more to choose from but the foods are so limited :(  so any ideas would be so appreciated!! Thank you….Love you guys!!!

ER with Dad :( Stayed on Track 100%

Easter 17 # 285935Oh my poor father.  Just sitting in his chair feeling just fine and the doctors office calls to say his Potassium levels are too high and he needs to be in the Emergency Room immediately.

I was on my way out the door to meet my husband at work, planned a walk at the Y and a dinner out.

Things worked out ok, Dads fine, hubby and I did have a healthy meal (not the steak house we had intended) but we didn’t make the Y.

We ended up eating at the Fire Mountain which is a buffet.  It offers so many different meat and vegetable choices I knew we would be fine.  We left feeling satisfied….ending the meal with some sugar free jello :)

Dads fine today, I’m stronger then ever and looking forward to the 24th as my weigh in for the first South Beach Weigh in!!!

Hey Shanna???? doesn’t that date ring a bell…giggle giggle…big big day isn’t  it?

I am a little bit confused, as I read Jo’s blog about diet soda.  It isn’t allowed?  OMG…its the one thing I look forward to in the evening.  Its my sweet treat.  I only have about 8 ounces, not a whole lot.  Everyday I ‘m learning more and more.  Thank you everyone who is giving me support and helping me choose the right foods.  It truly can be a challenge in the beginning!!!

Finally Committed!!!

Big ImagesNo silly, not to the psychiatric ward!!! but to SOUTHBEACH!!!

Ok I’m feeling a bit wacko…..I dream of bread, I dream of toast, mashed potatoes, bisquits…Grrrr…maybe I should be committed!!! LOL!!!

Day 3 here and I ‘m going strong.  My cold is really playing havoc on my exercise.  My chest is so tight and full of congestion “sigh”  I do try to walk the treadmill, but 10 minutes was the limit yesterday :(

I’ve stuck to the plan completely, no slip ups at all.  I saw a loss on the scale, but it won’t be official until Monday morning.  I figure once a week is fine otherwise I’ll become obsessed with the scale again and this is not a good thing.

Well its official buddys I’m now considered blind.  Couldn’t read my buddy Shannas pic on her blog  OMG!!!  Wacko, blind, but eating healthy and finally onthe right track!!! YAHOO!!

Went to the dentist this morning for a cleaning.  We’ve set up phase 2 of “Janes transformation”  Healthy mouth, New Smile, Most important Confidence.  So as I see it by June I’ll be smiling big and healthy and I’ll be in clothes a few sizes smaller!!! Life just doesn’t get any better then that…:)  The dentist and I will become good buddies again as I finish my healthy smile, but it will be worth all the time taken for sure!

Hope all my buddys out there are having a great day.  Remember what tommorrow is??????????  First day of SPRING!!! thats enough to make me do the “happy dance”  I’ve had enough snow to last me awhile!!

Love you all…God Bless you all…Healthy Choices…and Big Smiles all the way today!

Successful Day 1—13 To go!!

Good Morning Until Phase 2.  But you know what?  I’m really doing ok with this, I realize its only been 1 day but I’m looking at my entire lifestyle in a different way.  I think I have finally come to the point where FOOD does NOT dictate my life.

Maybe being so sick over the weekend with the stomach flu, and now being left with a horrible head cold has contributed to my appetite, or lack of :)

Yesterday was truly a successful day.  One of the first for me and today I feel more confident then ever.

My total food for the day consisted of

  • 6 ounces Low Sodium V8 Juice
  • 1/4 cup Egg Beaters with diced green onion, boiled ham cut finely, sliced fresh mushrooms and Kraft Fat Free American Cheese (1 slice)
  • 6 ounces of Fat Free Skim Milk
  • Celery with Humus and 1 Teaspoon Peanut Butter
  • Sugar Free Black Cherry Jello
  • Chicken Breast grilled with Garlic and Olive Oil
  • Asparagus (lots) :)
  • Beans
  • 4 - 8 ounce glasses of ice water
  • Ham and Turkey wrapped in lettuce leaves with a touch of mayo and pickles

I think I stayed on track, if anyone sees where I messed up, please tell me.  I want to do this right and get healthy again!!!

I’ll do my walking at home today, its Dads night for dinner.  We’ll make a roast beef, hubby and I will only have meat and vegetables, Dad can have the rest, the potatoes and all.

Other then this horrible cold, life is good.

Cheers to all my South Beach Buddys!!! and Cheers to all my non South Beach Buddys!!! You are my rock, my strength, and a huge part of my success here at BuddySlim!!
