Support is the only way

Its Monday!!!!!!!!  Not usually our happiest day of the week, but for me it is :)  Its been a rough couple of weeks, but things have settled down with the kids and now its my husband’s and my time.  YIPPEE!!!!!!!!

After watching Channel 8 Today show, they had a short segment on losing weight in the new year.

They said support is key to success, but we all know that. Thats why we are all so thankful for BuddySlim.   A big SHOUT OUT to BuddySlim :) and most of all a bigger SHOUT OUT to Dr. Marc :)

In particular they mentioned couples support.  If you all have a spouse or significant other, would they be willing to take the journey with you?  Even a best friend, or a new friend you meet at the gym.

BuddySlim is necessary for us to get er done, but someone one on one can really help!!!!

Sooooooooo tonight is our night.  Today I’ll start, but when Alan gets home he’ll get in on the exercise time.  We plan to sit and plan all meals together.

With a bike and a treadmill, we can exercise together and we plan on competitions which will jazz things up a bit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So…all my tresured buddys………….find someone at home to buddy up with in person…and ALWAYS remain in our close family of BuddySlimmers.

Gosh I love you guys….Thanks for all your support :)

To have a good friend is one of the highest delights of life; to be a good friend is one of the noblest and most difficult undertakings.

Take today, make it yours.  Find time for you because YOU are so important.  Theres no one out there that can decide your goals, only you.  You know what you want, lets all just jump in head first!!!! We have so many hero’s here to learn from…so many new people wanting to join in, life just doesn’t get any better then this :)

Gotta Do It, No More Games for Me

pole-dancing-dogcopy.jpg

Hey Buddys, its Wednesday  YAHOO!!!  hope everyone is having a great day so far.  You know how some days you just wake up and feel like you can tackle anything?  I have some, usually I just peeter out, but not today :)

Today is my detox/cleanse day.  I should cleanse 2 times a week for better weight loss.  I’m going to try 1 day a week.  Its got to be better that not at all right?

By 5:00 p.m. I will turn really ugly!!!  Nobody will want to be around me because I will be hungry:( But not today.  I CAN DO THIS!!!

I do have some really exciting news!!! My husband and I bought a really nice stationary bike.  It is a Reebok brand, and you can play video games.  The controls are on the end of the handles.  How cool is that?????????????  It should keep me interested, heck I’ll probably ride it just to play the games…LOL!!!

Now we can both workout together.  One rides, one walks, then we can switch it up.

Yes JENNIFER IT IS OUR YEAR!!!!  I have a special trip planned for this summer and I have to look good, or at least better then now ;)

I’ve posted this once before, but I’d like to post it again.  I hope you enjoy :)

Today I Will…

Be thankful for this beautiful day

Know that I am a whole human being and not a statistic

Live with  passion, give with kindness, and love completely

Find strength in the things that bring me joy

Express how I feel with honesty

Listen to my body

Rest when I’m tired

Eat when I’m hungry

Know that I am exactly where I need to be on my journey

We all know this is a tough journey, but we all know we can do this.  Lets make 2009 everyones year to shine :)

We just have to hang in there (see puppy at top )  LOL…he’s just a holding on there!!! and so can we.

Love and blessings to you all.

Thoughts of New Years Resolutions

Good Afternoon all buddys in buddyslim :)

Hope your Wednesday is going well….1/2 way through the week   YIPPEE!!!

Just wanted to  touch on the subject of New Years Resolutions—–Have you all made yours for 2009?

Do you make the same ones every year and seem to fail?

Have you already failed at the newest New Years Resolutions for 2009?

You know what?  I always have the same ones, and I suspect most of you do as well.

  • Lose weight
  • Exercise More
  • Bet a Better Person
  • For the smokers……Quit Smoking
  • Get more involved in your Church

Ok, you get the picture.  With my dieting…..much rather call it my healthy journey.  The D word always sounds so brutal to me.

This year my one New Years Resolution is simply “Do My Best For Myself”  This year I refuse to set strict boundaries because it has gotten me nowhere.

When I was struggling with a 30 year smoking addiction, I learned so much about addictions.  In my case I believe I am “addicted” to food.  I love cooking it, love watching people enjoy my cooking, love eating, love fast food and everythat bad that goes along with it.  In my smoking cessation classes, the one phrase they always used was “Never quit quitting”

That will be my “signature phrase” for 2009 :)

I hope that those who have made their New Years Resolutions will have success.

Lets take this one day at a time.  Its a new year, we have a new chance…..and I’m putting on a new face….yes buddys, this is my GAME FACE!!!! LOL!!!

Thought I’d share some dieting quotes I found :)

  • The biggest seller is cookbooks and the second is diet books–how not to eat what you’ve just learned to cook  ~Andy Rooney
  • The cardiologists diet:  If it tastes good, then spit it out ~Author Unknown
  • Don’t dig your grave with your own knife and fork  ~English Proverb
  • Reality check:  you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight.  At your goal weight or not you still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids and the same life.  Loosing weight is not a cure for life ~Phillip C. McGraw
  • The one way to get thin is to re-establish a purpose in life ~Cyril Connolly

I’m sending all my heartfelt blessing to all of you here, wishing you the very best 2009.  May all your goals be reached….your dreams be answered and most of all…lets all stick together as we are a “BuddySlim” family and get healthy!!!!

Love you all sooooooooo much :)

A Big Shout Out to All The BuddySlimmer’s

Good Monday Afternoon!!!  Hope your weekend went well.  I’ve read some blogs and I see some good weekend reports, but also some sad reports.

Prayers for all of you who are experiencing pain in your life. Stay strong in your faith, I know you will find your way.

And a big SHOUT OUT!!! to all of you who are making such progress :)  I’m so proud of all of you.  And its a good time to thank Dr. Marc for giving us such a loving site to come too.  You all are incredible people here, they just don’t get any better than you all :)

I’ll be right here praying for those who need prayers and praising those who make such awesome progress.   I love you all!!!

Tell me Your Dreams

Happiness

Good Tuesday Morning my buddys :)  Hope everyones Labor Day weekend was a relaxing, fun time for you all.

I was thinking lately about my “wish list” for my life.  I think when you become sick things look very different.  You look at life in a whole new perspective.

I’ve made many lists of “Dreams” in the past, but I sat down and seriously wrote my best dreams and wishes.

  • First & obvious, lose this unwanted weight
  • Have many grandchildren :)
  • See my children really be happy in life
  • Have a BuddySlim Reunion
  • Get to Disneyworld (going in October [fingers crossed])
  • I’m adopted, so I’d love to find my birth parents and or siblings.  I’ve tried with no results.  Any one have suggestions?
  • Have God lead me into a volunteer position with the handicapped/down syndrome children (they always tug at my heart)
  • Live on a lake
  • Travel to every state
  • Go to Canada to meet my best friend

What are your dreams?  Do you just have one BIG Dream, or do you have a list like I do?

One does not make friends; one recognizes them.

Friendship is in loving rather than in being loved.

He who is true to one friend thus proves himself worthy of many.

God bless you all…sending Big Hugs all around :)

New Month, New Picture, New Life & New Changes

friendship

September 1, 2008.  A new start, a new month and so many changes.  I changed my profile pic and it really makes me sick to think I have let myself go so badly.  This is the BIG version of me.  I promise to God, Myself and all my Buddys I will be showing of SMALLER version of myself soon :)

Tommorrow is back to work for so many including my husband.  Makes me sad.  We never really had any “alone” time.  Family all around.  I love family but sometimes……………………………..

I also wanted to send this message out, and I’ll probably post it to make sure my buddys receive it.

I’ve always had a few problems commenting on blogs with new buddys. Its frustrating, so I usually send them a message.

Today I am sad because I can’t comment on ANYBODYS blogs :(  Not even my buddys I’ve had for the last year :(

So I wrote Dr. Marc and asked if there was solution.  I’m sure hoping its an easy fix.  So to all my buddys I haven’t commented on, hopefully tommorrow I’ll have the answer.

God Bless You All….Smile….Be Happy….Love Life….God is soooooooooooooooo Good!!!

Love you all my special buddys :)

I did it, finally did it!!!

life naked nudeI thought this pic was so adorable I had to share with you :)

I finally did it and I just have to brag a bit.  Dad took us to Long John Silvers (his fav) and I just prayed they would have a baked fish available.  Last time we went I was faced with nothing but fried.

Well guess what???????????????????????  They had a baked cod platter with coleslaw, rice pilaf, 1/2 ear of corn and 2 hushpuppies.  I was so happy.  I could live on fried foods but I’m really serious about these life saving changes on the eating and exercise.

The meal was delicious, I didn’t eat the rice and only 1/2 the cole slaw, so overall for me this is HUGE!!!

Hope everyone is having a wonder Labor Day Weekend!!!

I received this e-mail—wanted to share with you

16.jpgGood Afternoon Buddys!!  Not too long ago I asked your opinion about receiving e-mails which asked you to forward them on to a certain amount of people.  Such as this “Send this to 10 other people and you will be richly blessed”

My responses were really interesting, some of you said they were offended and bothered by forwarded e-mails, others said it really didn’t matter.  The majority of people were annoyed so I chose to post this e-mail as my “blog”  Not forcing “anyone” to read it or forward it.  This particular e-mail was sent by a very very close friend whos response was “I’m annoyed by these types of e-mails”  LOL!! Isn’t it funny how we react to different things at different times!!

Anyhow…here it goes.  I found this to be an enlightening e-mail and for any of you interested I hope you enjoy :)

Subject:  FW:  Time for God

Read only if you have time for God. Let me tell you, make sure you read all the way to the bottom.  I almost deleted this e-mail but I was blessed when I got to the end.

God, when I received this e-mail, I thought…I don’t have time for this…And, this is really inappropriate during work.

Then, I realized that this kind of thinking is…Exactly, what has caused lot of the problems in our world today.

We try to keep God in church on Sunday morning…

Maybe, Sunday night…

And, the unlikely event of a midweek service.

We do like to have Him around during sickness…

And, of course, at funerals.

However, we don’t have time, or room, for Him during work or play…

Because…That’s the part of our lives we think…We can, and should handle on our own.

May God forgive me for ever thinking…

That…There is a time or place where…

HE is not to be FIRST in my life.

We should always have time to remember all HE has done for us.

If, You arn’t ashamed to do this…

Please follow the directions.

Jesus said, “If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father.”

Not ashamed?

Pass this on ONLY IF YOU MEAN IT!!!

Yes, I do Love God.

HE is  my source of existence and Savior.

He keeps me functioning each and every day.  Without Him, I will be nothing. But, with Christ, HE strengthens me (Phil 4:13) This is the simplest test.

If you Love God…And, are not ashamed of all the marvelous things HE has done for you…

Send this to ten people and the person who sent it to you? Now do you have the time to pass it on?

Make sure that you scroll through to the end.

Easy vs. Hard.

Why is it so hard to tell the truth but Yet so easy to tell a lie?

Why are we so sleepy in church but Right when the sermon is over we suddenly wake up?

Why is it so easy to delete a Godly e-mail, but yet we forward all of the nasty one?

Of all the free gifts we may receive, Prayer is the very best one…

There are no costs, but wonderful rewards…GOD BLESS!!

I really should have deleted the “pass this on” because that isn’t the reason I posted this.  I just hope anyone reading this enjoyed it as much as I did!!!

Sending Gods blessings and happiness to you all.  Hows the healthy eating going?  We are doing quite well today.  One day at a time!!!

A Pot of Chili?

And a houseful of family  :)

Thought we’d have a quiet weekend but turned out otherwise..LOL!!!

Phone rings, 9:30 a.m….daughter Angela says “Mom whatcha doing today”….”nothing”….”can we come spend the afternoon?”  “sure”

Phone rings 10:30 a.m……. son Jon says….Can I come over?  sure :)  then comes Chris.

Thank goodness for backup meals.  Always have a few extra dinners for days like this!! I made my infamous healthy version of chili using Ground Turkey Breast (instead of ground beef)  used V8 Low Sodium Vegtable juice for the base and lots of chili powder!!

The pot was huge!! I was ready.  After all the kids were here I sent my husband to get Dad since he really is enjoying Talan more these days :)

We ate, laughed,  and just had a fun day!!

Hope everyones weekend went well.  Did you exercise?  Did you eat good?
