Yup Its Monday, Are We Ready?????

Good Morning Glitter Graphics

Its Monday Morning!!! A new chance, a new week, and is everyone working hard towards their goals???????   I’m beginning to find a routine here that I’m happy with :)

Got a clean bill of health on Friday.  Seems my kidneys arn’t blocked, doctor said they look beautiful, arteries open wide and clear!!!  Guess thats a good thing right?  So now its back to square one to figure out why I  have these attacks.  I’m not going to worry much, one day at a time.  My heart function has also gone up to normal.  Now is God Good or what?????????  Do miracles happen or what??????????  YES THEY DO!!!

I’m on a mission to find a recumbant bike for me to ride here at home.  In my office I have my treadmill, so my husband will walk the treadmill, while I ride my bike  LOL!!  Quality time with my best friend/husband, now thats a good life ;)

Pantry is totally stocked with healthy choices.  I’ve found canned vegetables with no salt added.  I could never find stewed tomatoes without salt, but we hit the jackpot yesterday..YIPPE!! I could eat stewed tomatoes everyday, hot, cold….yum yum.

Were not very much into canned fruits, but here in Michigan nothing is fresh and in season.  So I was able to find  “sugar free” fruits.  Only 30 calories or so.

Lots of chicken in the fridge…..My Dad bought a variety box of Omaha Steaks, and there meat is very lean and very good  “rubbing tummy”

So I think we are ready once again, just need that bike!!!

Are you all ready?  Set??? GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love you all….sending hugs and blessings for you all, Jane xoxoxoxoxo

Believe In Yourself

Anyone seen the movie Wall-E by Disney Pixar?

Wall-E Teaser PosterGood morning BuddySlimmers.  Today our Big/Little Sister adventure will bring us to the local movies to watch Wall-E :)

Katelins choice of course.  Well, she could choose from these choices.  1).  Start our scrapbook  2).  Volunteer at the crisis center  3).  Go see a Movie (her choice of movies)  so here we are!!!

At noon today we’ll be sitting in the movies.  I do have a healthy plan for snacks.  I’ll order the popcorn/pop combo….requesting a Diet Coke and popcorn~~NO butter~~ NO salt!!!

Hopefully Katelin will follow suit, we’ll see!! remember she is 12 years old and they do have a mind of their own!

Did well with my eating yesterday.  Did my treadmill, and started studying again :)  I will get through this course even if it kills me!!! LOL!! and it just might do that!!!

Ok…my buddys, have a fantastic day filled with love and happiness.  Love you All!!

Organic Anyone?

pass it on commentsHappy Thursday Afternoon all you BuddySlim Buddys!!! Wow, feeling on top of the world this afternoon.  All of this eating healthy and exercising is finally paying off!!! I managed to fit into a pair of jeans I haven’t been able to wear in months.  I wasn’t able to breathe, but who cares!!!!!!!!!  LOL!!! I wore them all day…and the next time I wear them they will be comfortable….that is my mission in life right now :)

I’m doing some research on organic foods.  I know several of my buddys focus on all healthy “whole foods”, “organic” foods and as I watched Montal Williams today he did a show on “Living Well”  The segment today focused on food.

One speaker came on and talked about organic food.  The program I am currently on for my weight issues concentrates on organics as well.

I was just wondering if anyone had some input concerning organic foods,….maybe opinions on the taste?  is it that different?  Price?  seems to be higher.  Do you feel better eating organic foods?  Is it worth the extra cost?

I’ve bought a few organic items and really don’t see a difference in taste….so any input would be appreciated!!!

Hope everyone is having a great day…and I was very happy to see that Shanna blogged!!! I’ll be watching everyday Buttercup!!! :)

Sending love and happy thoughts to all my buddys this fine weekend :)

Today is the Big Day!!

Its Monday morning :)  Today is the day, the big day, the first day into my journey of healthy eating, yet once again.  But what is different about today?  Well this time I WILL SUCCEED!!!

I want to wish my buddy Jo best of luck on her first day of South Beach.  Also to all my other buddys who are following South Beach.

I also want to thank everyone who took time to help me understand and learn about the South Beach Way.  Thank you for the recipes, the food suggestions, etc.  Couldn’t have done it without you.

Was  a horrible weekend here in Michigan.  Starting Friday about 2:00 a.m. the bathroom became my best friend :(  Sick with the flu, need not give details.  Now today, Monday morning I’m left with a nasty head cold.

Come to find out my grandson was coming down with the flu on Thursday when I was visiting.  I only pray my father doesn’t pick up this bug, because its a tough one and he is still so very weak “sigh”

Up this morning at 6:00 a.m

  • Coffee 6 ounces with splenda
  • 7:oo a.m. 6 ounces Low Sodium V8 Juice
  • 9:00 a.m. Egg Beaters with Green onions, Canadian Bacon & reduced fat cheese

So far so good :)  Lunch will probably be a big salad with South Beach Ranch dressing and some turkey breast.  Dinner is planned….Chicken Breast grilled, fresh asparagus, small salad and sugar free jello for desert.  I’ll have 8 ounces fat free milk, my hubby prefers his ice water!!

Wishing everybody a good day…a Happy St. Patricks Day to all!!! LOL!! We had our corned beef and cabbage yesterday, I only had a couple bites, too strong for my poor stomach!!

I’ll need all the prayers I can get!!! Carbs have been my very best friend all my life.  I’m hoping I don’t show my “other” side :(  This will be a challenge for me to stop the breads and potatoes, but I’m sure with my buddys and Gods help I CAN DO THIS!!!

God channels all the power of heaven through the authority of the believer who knows the rights and privileges that belong to him and are found in the name of Jesus.

Adkins or South Beach?? Please HELP!!!

Thank You Comments by MyCuteGraphics.comGood Morning Buddy Slimmers!!! Hope everyone is up and smiling today March 11, 2008.  Spring is just around the corner….are we all working hard towards our goals?

I know I sure am, my husband has now lost 10 lbs.  My scale is doing the yo-yo thingy right now :( but its ok, I’ve yet to give up.  Walking has become easier and more frequent now.

We have decided to make Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday YMCA days.  We are committed to dinner on Tuesdays and Thursdays with Dad.

Ok..big question, big dilemma here.  I have bought both South Beach Diet Book, and Adkins.  Can’t say I’ve read both books front to back as of yet, but after looking at the highlights they seem to be very very similar to me.

Can someone tell me what the major difference is between the 2 diets??? and why you choose the diet you did?

Thank you for your time…April is my first vacation and its only around the corner, Its time once again for me to get serious!!!

Love to everyone…stay happy…stay healthy!!!

The Blessings just keep coming

Angel Comments by MyCuteGraphics.comBuddys of mine, I’m so convinced if you have a strong faith in god your life will fall into place.  His plan is a divine plan, made up uniquely for each one of us.  No 2 plans are the same.  When life seems to be overwhelming, just quietly ask “God please take over and help me” and I promise you will see miracles.

Yesterday was probably the best day In along time.  I’ve always wanted to be a Big Sister and its finally going to happen.  The home visit went very well and my worker had brought out files for 2 little girls in my neighborhood.  One girl is 7 and the other is 12.  For now I choose the 7 year old….God just seemed to direct me to her.

I had my chili cooking in the kitchen, but received a surprise phone call from my husband.  He said “Honey?? how would you like to go out for a steak dinner tonight?’  LOL!!! well duh!!!! Of course!! the chili can wait, in fact it tastes better after a couple of days anyways!! So after the home visit I met hubby at work and off to dinner we went.  Had a wonderful time, I’m so blessed to have a husband that doubles as my best friend “happy sigh”

I’ll be cooking dinner to bring to Dads tonight.  I Choose a healthy pork loin, baked acorn squash, lima beans (good fiber!!) mashed potates (made with skim milk) and fresh pineapple for dessert.  This is one of Dads favs.

So for now, I’m off to the doctor, still trying to get the medications balanced. Although I’m feeling better these past 2 weeks then I”ve felt in a long time.  Seems life is finally settling down a bit and I can focus more on getting healthy and staying healthy!!!

Love you all!!

Today is the Day!!!

Well its finally here.  The Big Day!!! Its amazing how my family just jumped in and cleaned house with me!! My husband usually helps, but WOW WOW WOW!! Everything is in its place and shiny clean…LOL!!! We’ve got our Spring Cleaning done a bit early…YIPPEE!!!!

Well, I must admit I’m somewhat afraid if this weather gets worse the home visit will be rescheduled :(  So I’m praying really hard.

We brought dinner next door to my Dads, he requested BLT’s.  I made some healthy potato salad (fat free mayo, lots of celery & onions) and no dessert (Dad was sad about that).   He ate twice as much as I’ve ever seen him eat.  I swear my brother and sister in law just don’t get it.  They continue to cook foods he doesn’t like.  We got him on the scale and he’s lost so much weight.  He always weighed around 178, last night the scale said 162.  I just wanted to cry. But I know, I’m stepping back and really putting this into Gods hands.  I really need the strength to get through this.

Ok…best buddys ever, I’m going to go for now. I want to make some chili (with turkey not beef) so its simmering all day and ready for dinner.

Healthy Happy Thoughts to all!!

There is no need to pray the problem.  What we need to do is zero in on the answer. Pray and speak the answer; cast the problem over on Him
