The doctors scales should be illegal, and all thrown away.

A beautiful Tuesday afternoon to all my slimming buddys :) Its good to be here at BuddySlim today. I actually have a small break this afternoon and thought it would be a good time to say hello!!!
Yes, this is a fact. I am going to boycott all scales in doctors offices. I will refuse to be weighed on them ever again. They should be illegal and therefore taken away forever LOL!!!
So my scales here at home (I love them by the way) are showing me the numbers I wish to see. I’m not going down, but I’m not going up, and for me this is HUGE PROGRESS “patting myself on the back”
The scale at the doctors yesterday showed a 3 pound gain. Well I set my purse on the ground (1 pound right there) took off my shoes (1 pound there) I asked if maybe I took off my jeans I would weigh what my scales said…LOL!!! She said Honey you do whatever you need to do, I’ll turn my head…and she was laughing hysterically
I declined, and took the 3 pound gain. I know where I am, its the clothes and shoes that weigh so much!!!
So today was a blood draw, pee pee sample (you know in the little cup, where you have to bring it out in front of the ENTIRE WAITING room for all to see) and a Chest X Ray.
Love love really love my lab. The girls all know me, and we laugh and joke, kind of like here. It is really becoming a second home for me. I’m pretty much there on a weekly basis. I told the lab girls, we’ve got to stop meeting like this!!! Lets have coffee instead, cuz I’ve got so many holes poked in me from drawing blood!!! I think that should be illegal as well.
So 6 vials of blood…EEEKS….didn’t know I had that much, they usually take 2 or 3….x ray, sample and I’m on my happy way.
Lots of stress with my children, but it is totally in Gods hands. I’m focusing on ME…sounds selfish, but its high time I get myself as healthy as God will allow. I trust him, and know his plan will be a good one. Remember buddys, when you wake up in the morning, please say your thanks….Thank you God for this beautiful Day. Never go to bed angry…always say an I Love you at night. No one knows whats around the corner.
Some good news to report, my Son Jon who is 23 was approved for an apartment which is located right across the street from where he works. He will not have to drive anymore. The trip from here at my house is 60 miles round trip. His car is a huge gas hog, so it takes around 100 dollars a week for gas “big sigh”
He’s excited but a little scared and reluctant. He’s ALWAYS had a roomate, and this time its only him.
Angela is about to POP!!! Wonder how our little Debbie is doing???
My other son is away for a bit. Learning some of lifes hardest lessons. Guess we all have to learn things the hard way, I know I sure did.
Ok, my lovely buddys….Gods Blessings for you all today. Hope its a beautiful day for you.
Love you all
Jane

If you have as much blood drawn as you say you do then you shouldn’t drink coffee or it may leak out of you considering all the shots you’ve had! What a mess.
Have a great day girl!
I get weighed at Curves and they have the doctor scale version…they always weigh me heavier too I think.
You sound like my mom, with all the blood being drawn! She actually hides from them! One time they found her and told her to stay put, they were looking for her all over because she was due for blood tests.
(I drive her to the doctors) so one day I am sitting in the waiting room, reading a magazine…and then I look out the window. There she is outside making gesturing signs to get out of there now. Seems she escaped from the lab somehow…
Hey Jane, I understand where you’re coming from. My brother has to have labs every week to see if he needs a shot and of course, he takes daily insulin shots and all those other wonderful things. You know they make that stop leak stuff for radiators, maybe we can find a human version for you so you can drink your coffee without leaking it out.
I love your positive attitude. I’m so happy for your son and his first apartment all to himself.
I agree with you, actually, don’t like scales period but the one at the doctor’s office is always a couple lbs higher.
Have a great day!

You know that I have two scales at home and they show a 7 pound difference?! What in the world is with that? It’s always the same…always seven pounds!
So glad that things are working out for the kids…glad to hear some good news.
Love ya!
I say throw em all out the window and wave goodby. Scales are EVIL! My doctor’s scales always read higher than mine. *sigh*
Now WHY is it that they take vials and vials and vials of blood and then use 2 drops for whatever test they are doing? LOL
You sound like your in a good place today Jane. Makes me smile and now I don’t worry so much about you.
You know what they say. If you wake up alive, you get one more chance to get it right!
Hugggggggggggggggggs my dear dear buddy,
Shan
You know what they did with all those vials of blood? That’s right…how do you think your doctor pays for his Mercedes Benz!!??? Hmmm, I bet you hadn’t thought of that, had you? Hahaah!! Kidding of course!! A little humor is oftentimes the best medicine.
I’m sorry to hear you are having children troubles….but you’re right to put yourself first, I’ve always said it and I won’t lecture you, because you got your head on straight and I for one, am very, very proud of you.
Keep fighting the good fight my friend!
Amen! Throw ‘em out! They should have weighed you again after taking all that blood!

My dr’s scale always says I’m heavier, I think they rig them that way!
Praying for you lady! Love you much!
Great to hear you have kept your sense of humor after yesterday and again today. Must be doing something right………and those scale will show it….one day. Did they weigh you before or after the took all those vials of blood? Maybe you should have asked for a re-weight-in. Oh well….next time.
Glad you’re in a good place today.
Judi
Ok, ok… 3lbs of a difference between your scale at home and your doctors - reason being - you weighed in with your clothes on AND you had probably eaten and drank something at some stage of the day before you weighed in. The doctor always charts weight as “Xlbs with 4lbs of clothing” so really, you should take 4lbs away from the weight you weighed in at with the doctor.
Keep that in mind next time ok?
