Good Monday morning to all the BuddySlimmers out there :0)  Hope your weekend was a good one.  After reading a few blogs, seems like all is well here.  Doesn’t it seem there are soooooooooo many new members? or is it just me?

Oh, well when you get my age, and twice a gramma now, your mind does start to slip…LOL!!!  mine has almost fallen to the ground….OH GEEZ!!!!

The pic I picked for my blog made me laugh, because I have a t-shirt that says the exact same thing.  I always get a comment or a chuckle when I’m out shopping or whatever. 

Just yesterday my husband wore his fav t-shirt which said “Don’t Rush Me I Get Paid By the Hour” 

As we were walking through Meijers another young man had a t-shirt that read “I See Dumb People”  Both my husband and this man read each others shirts in passing, and they both laughed.  Isn’t it funny how silly t-shirts like that can tell so much about your personality.

Anyway, sounds like I’m on a tangent!!! A little talkative today :)  well everyday really….hehehe

I love the fall weather.  The leaves on the trees are changing and when the sun shines on them, it is breathtaking.  I love the cool days and evenings…the air just seems to smell better then summer.

The best part is Alan and I have begun our evening walks again.  We don’t go far, because I’m still trying to see how much I can handle.  The fun part is finding new trails or parks to walk at.

Hope everybody has a great week at work or at home.  Smile Big Buddys….Laugh Alot……and Eat Healthy.  We are all fighters here at Buddyslim.  We don’t give up.

Can we please keep Kama deep in our prayers, she is going through so much right now.  We all love her and care for her and she really needs us now.

September 25, 2008, 4:58 p.m….a beautiful baby girl named Brookly Rose is born.  Weighing in at 7 pounds 5 ounces, and measuring 20 1/2 inches long.  Pretty brown hair, pretty little toes and fingers (almost looks like her fingernails have been painted for this occasion!)

Her complexion is absolutely flawless.  Yes a beautiful gift from God. Thank youGod…Thank you for taking care of my beautiful daughter while she delivers her beautiful daughter.

Many tears were shedding yesterday, let me tell you. Even Daddy….he looked at his little baby girl, and said  “Welcome my baby girl”  that put in right over the edge.  As  I watched his eyes well with tears, and my daughter crying right along, I could see God had done a wonderful thing. 

Angela and Tim have a lot of obstacles in life.  Finances being number one, but I know God watches out for them all.

I’m trying to figure out how to get a pic of Talan holding his baby sister, but can’t seem to get but one here on my blog.

Ok…I’m got a lot of catching up to do here at BuddySlim?  Have I missed any good news….did Debbie have her baby yet??????????

This is it.  4:45 a.m. phone rings.  Both hubby and I are fast asleep.  Tim (Angelas fiance) says…ITS BABY TIME!!!

5:00, I’m in shower, can’t hardly keep my eyes open (due to heavy sleeping meds)

5:30 a.m., drinking coffee, writing blog.

Now I’m off to welcome little Brooklyn Rose into this beautiful world God has created for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A beautiful Tuesday afternoon to all my slimming buddys :)  Its good to be here at BuddySlim today.  I actually have a small break this afternoon and thought it would be a good time to say hello!!!

Yes, this is a fact.  I am going to boycott all scales in doctors offices.  I will refuse to be weighed on them ever again.  They should be illegal and therefore taken away forever  LOL!!!

So my scales here at home (I love them by the way) are showing me the numbers I wish to see.  I’m not going down, but I’m not going up, and for me this is HUGE PROGRESS  “patting myself on the back”

The scale at the doctors yesterday showed a 3 pound gain.  Well I set my purse on the ground (1 pound right there)  took off my shoes (1 pound there)  I asked if maybe I took off my jeans I would weigh what my scales said…LOL!!! She said Honey you do whatever you need to do, I’ll turn my head…and she was laughing hysterically  I declined, and took the 3 pound gain.  I know where I am, its the clothes and shoes that  weigh so much!!!

So today was a blood draw, pee pee sample (you know in the little cup, where you have to bring it out in front of the ENTIRE WAITING room for all to see)  and a Chest X Ray.

Love love really love my lab.  The girls all know me, and we laugh and joke, kind of like here.  It is really becoming a second home for me.  I’m pretty much there on a weekly basis.  I told the lab girls, we’ve got to stop meeting like this!!! Lets have coffee instead, cuz I’ve got so many  holes poked in me from drawing blood!!!  I think that should be illegal as well.

So 6 vials of blood…EEEKS….didn’t know I had that much, they usually take 2 or 3….x ray, sample and I’m on my happy way.

Lots of stress with my children, but it is totally in Gods hands.  I’m focusing on ME…sounds selfish, but its high time I get myself as healthy as God will allow.  I trust him, and know his plan will be a good one.  Remember buddys, when you wake up in the morning, please say your thanks….Thank you God for this beautiful Day.  Never go to bed angry…always say an I Love you  at night.  No one knows whats around the corner.

Some good news to report, my Son Jon who is 23 was approved for an apartment which is located right across the street from where he works.  He will not have to drive anymore.  The trip from here at my house is 60 miles round trip.  His car is a huge gas hog, so it takes around 100 dollars a week for gas “big sigh” 

He’s excited but a little scared and reluctant.  He’s ALWAYS had a roomate, and this time its only him.

Angela is about to POP!!!  Wonder how our little Debbie is doing???

My other son is away for a bit.  Learning some of lifes hardest lessons.  Guess we all have to learn things the hard way, I know I sure did.

YEAH  its Friday buddys!!!  Hope you are all having a fabulous day and  have some fun plans for the weekend

I know the picture above is not a Big Mac, but I’ve been searching for like  a half hour, and I gave up.

Since the hospital (August 15) I’ve been so well behaved with my eating.  We’ve avoided fast food almost always.  I did have a veggie sub from Subway (not my favorite, I need the MEAT)  LOL!!  Also had 1 Arbys roastbeef, and Quiznos sub, it was a healthy turky sub.

So everytime I pass a Mcdonalds, my car starts to swerve towards their parking lot!!! My car is possessed.  My tongues hanging out for a darn Big Mac!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

How do you all get past these cravings?  Maybe if I didn’t eat all day and only had 1 Big Mac, or maybe a half, but then what about the fries????????????

You know what I came to realize.  I know what to eat and how much.  But food has consumed my whole life.  I started cooking at age 10 (only for my survival, my mother couldn’t cook very well).  I’ve always been the “One” who made the big special meals, and everyone ALWAYS had to come to my house to eat on Holidays.  I can only remember going to my mother and fathers house for 2 Thanksgivings.  Everything else was my responsibility.

So its no wonder my life revolves around food.  I know I’m not alone out there with this issue.

Well thats enough rambling for one day!!!

Christopher!!!! (my baby) ”sniff sniff”

Today is a really big birthday in our house.  Its a beautiful day so far, the sun is shining bright, and we have a beautiful cool breeze.  I woke up feeling great, watching my silly scale going up 1 pound, then down 1 pound, up, then down.  Crazy.  At least I’m somewhat maintaing, I just have to kick it up a notch.

So my youngest child, Christopher turns 21 today.  We’ve been trying to figure out what to get him for the last three days.  Of course he says “oh nothing Mom”  Alan and I ran to a little shopping mall where 2 of Chris’s favorite clothing stores were.  We figured we’d give him a gift certificate so he can pick what he wants.  That night all the power was out and the stores closed

So here I am on his birthday and still nothing.  My other son was thinking about this as well and came up with a MP3 player!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I was so relieved, because this is a big birthday.  Any birthday is special, but this is big.  So today I’ll go and pick one out  (may wait for Alan and go together, he knows much more about these things)  Jon and Alan and I will all pitch in so we can get a better quality one.

I’ll pick him up a small cake and there you go!!!

Now about the praying all day and night, he is now legal age to buy beer/alcohol.  He’s been drinking on and off and I have no way to control it because I can never catch the one buying it for him.  Its a serious offense, contributing to a minor.

So Chris plans to go out tonight for a party, he has a vacation day tommorrow.

My stomach is in knots.  Please say a prayer that he survives his 21st birthday.  His life is just a mess right now, and he seems to think turning to drinking will make the pain go away.

Ok…that was depressing enough.  How is everyone elses day going? 

Ate some homemade vegetable soup and it was yummy and almost completely salt free.  I’ll be eating it for a couple of days LOL…the scale will surely go down if I keep this up

So, lets all have a really fantastic day….you are all so unique and loving in your own special ways.  I love BuddySlim, good friends, good support and always someone there when you need a friend.

Good Morning my good buddys.  Hope this morning finds you all healthy and happy.  Remember life is very short, so live it to the fullest and most of all find something to smile about.  Make a stranger smile, it just might make there day so much brighter

I was thinking about my little grandson Talan, and my smile just comes alive.  I get this certain feeling in my heart…such a feeling of unexplained love.  A love unlike any other. 

I find myself laughing about his little shannigans  LOL.  Like the other day for instance, he loves to pull my reading glasses out of my purse, and say “Gramma here your glasses”  he continues to put them on my face.  I’m praying the whole time because he is pulling them wide open, almost breaking them.  He has already broke my favorite pair, but hey material items can be replaced.

Well I had taken Angela to her pregnancy checkup and I had my glasses when I picked her and Talan up.  When we were shopping I couldn’t find them.  I just was sick, we looked all over the car, under the seats and nothing :(  I figured they were set down in the docs office, or maybe lost shopping.

Two days later Angela called and said with excitement in her voice “Mom you won’t believe what Talan just brought out of his room”  I said, what I have no idea.  She said just guess.  I said I HAVE NO IDEA TELL ME!!!!!

Talan walked out of his bedroom with my purple eyeglass holder, with my glasses inside.  Somehow that little guy had confiscated my glasses and had them in his room…LOL!!!!

So innocent on his part, frustrating for a bit, but oveall very funny.  His innocence is so beautiful and refreshing to me.  I watch as he repeats EVERY word…..”giggling”  I mean EVERY word.  We have to be very very careful.  He’s heard his father say this one time too many “Oh Shit” and of course Talan loves his daddy, so he says it all the time.  No reason, just says it. 

Angela and I were getting hair done and eyebrows waxed, and as I sat in the chair getting my hair done, little Talan walks up to the hairdresser and looks at her…Angela is calling him back to come sit while Gramma gets her hair done, and he looks up and says in this quiet little voice Oh Shit.  OMGoodness, Angela wanted to just crawl under the chair, and I held back laughing, and everyone in the beauty shop was laughing.  It was all so innocent, he has no idea what it means, but to hear it coming out of his little mouth is just funny.  Angela disciplined him of course, so we watch our mouthes carefully.

So my buddys, lets find some of the innocence of the children.  Lets have a happy, silly, stress free (as much as possible) Life full of God, love, and comfort for each other.

As my father would say “Jane, we only go through this life one time, so lets make it the best we can”  And Always find a reason to smile

Good Morning buddys!!! Hope everyones  weekend went well, hope you had some fun and got to relax.  Not sure about your weather but we have had rain straight for 3 days.  Not to mention about 3 more days last week.  The ground is drenched, and we are actually seeing green grass once again

I’m been praying for all those in the line of the hurricanes.  I know a couple who have been through it, and thank God they are ok “sigh”

Had a great weekend.  My daughters babyshower was such fun.  She received soooooooooooo many gifts!!!

Lots of good food.  I did behave myself

though.  Had a 1/2 of a sloppy joe….one scoop of chicken salad, about 4 chips, and water.  My daughter gave me this huge piece of cake, it was beautiful and I only took a few bites, so sweet I didn’t really enjoy it.  Once you start eating healthy, the bad foods really don’t taste as good.
