I received this e-mail—wanted to share with you

16.jpgGood Afternoon Buddys!!  Not too long ago I asked your opinion about receiving e-mails which asked you to forward them on to a certain amount of people.  Such as this “Send this to 10 other people and you will be richly blessed”

My responses were really interesting, some of you said they were offended and bothered by forwarded e-mails, others said it really didn’t matter.  The majority of people were annoyed so I chose to post this e-mail as my “blog”  Not forcing “anyone” to read it or forward it.  This particular e-mail was sent by a very very close friend whos response was “I’m annoyed by these types of e-mails”  LOL!! Isn’t it funny how we react to different things at different times!!

Anyhow…here it goes.  I found this to be an enlightening e-mail and for any of you interested I hope you enjoy :)

Subject:  FW:  Time for God

Read only if you have time for God. Let me tell you, make sure you read all the way to the bottom.  I almost deleted this e-mail but I was blessed when I got to the end.

God, when I received this e-mail, I thought…I don’t have time for this…And, this is really inappropriate during work.

Then, I realized that this kind of thinking is…Exactly, what has caused lot of the problems in our world today.

We try to keep God in church on Sunday morning…

Maybe, Sunday night…

And, the unlikely event of a midweek service.

We do like to have Him around during sickness…

And, of course, at funerals.

However, we don’t have time, or room, for Him during work or play…

Because…That’s the part of our lives we think…We can, and should handle on our own.

May God forgive me for ever thinking…

That…There is a time or place where…

HE is not to be FIRST in my life.

We should always have time to remember all HE has done for us.

If, You arn’t ashamed to do this…

Please follow the directions.

Jesus said, “If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father.”

Not ashamed?

Pass this on ONLY IF YOU MEAN IT!!!

Yes, I do Love God.

HE is  my source of existence and Savior.

He keeps me functioning each and every day.  Without Him, I will be nothing. But, with Christ, HE strengthens me (Phil 4:13) This is the simplest test.

If you Love God…And, are not ashamed of all the marvelous things HE has done for you…

Send this to ten people and the person who sent it to you? Now do you have the time to pass it on?

Make sure that you scroll through to the end.

Easy vs. Hard.

Why is it so hard to tell the truth but Yet so easy to tell a lie?

Why are we so sleepy in church but Right when the sermon is over we suddenly wake up?

Why is it so easy to delete a Godly e-mail, but yet we forward all of the nasty one?

Of all the free gifts we may receive, Prayer is the very best one…

There are no costs, but wonderful rewards…GOD BLESS!!

I really should have deleted the “pass this on” because that isn’t the reason I posted this.  I just hope anyone reading this enjoyed it as much as I did!!!

Sending Gods blessings and happiness to you all.  Hows the healthy eating going?  We are doing quite well today.  One day at a time!!!

Ive actually recieved one very similar to this and I did read it because there is truth to it. However I did not pass it on because I dont “do” those chain things. I dont like the idea of being guilted into something even if ther is good behind it…anyway, just my opinion, no offense intended :)

  2. JustJane47 @ July 27th, 2008

No offense taken!! thats why I posted it as a blog instead of “forwarding in my e-mail list” I just thought the “message of the mail” was interesting. I hoped people would enjoy the “message” part :)

I for one am not ashamed of my beliefs and I do not find excuses not to pass along spiritual emails. If someone is offended by them it is usually because they are not true followers and they know this kind of material can put them at risk of being unpopular or even ridiculed. They would rather be with the in crowd and sinning than with the true believers and trying hard not to. They do not want to be reminded that they too! have faults that they should be working on. It is far easier to seek Him only when we feel we need Him than to acknowledge His existence in every phase of our lives. He is not a God of convenience He is our Creator to whom we owe our very lives. The problem with the world today is the tremendous influence on society to keep Him out and get Him out of everything (He created) instead of seeking Him and honoring Him allowing Him to rule as He should over His people, His world. He is not the problem!!! He is the answer!!! I am not saved, I will not be saved until which time I die and I am truly repentent for all of my sins. Salvation to me is not reached when we are still here on earth and continue to sin. It is not a free admission to a carnival ride on which we seat our enemies and spin them till they die because we feel being “saved” we are without fault. I have always and will always put Him first and I thank Him immensely for people like Jane and Kama and others here who also walk the talk. Thank you Jane for givng me this opportunity to Praise Him as it should be. Love You Sister!!!!!!

Honestly…I am too ADHD to read most of the ones I get! I am very busy, and although I appreciate it when someone thinks of me and sends something…I rarely forward it…unless I feel led to. AND if I do…I try to delete the “requirements”.

I would just be careful not to judge others…why they do or don’t do something…
the bible says not to do that. Judge not, lest ye be judged.

I also just think that telling people to forward something to others…like a chain letter is a form of manipulation and control–and that is wrong. The bible calls it witchcraft. Especially if there is a promise of something attached to it. I would just be careful not to get into pride about it either way.

Anyway, God gave me a free will. Because He loves me…how can I tell someone else what to do–and take that from them?

A lot of religions are like that too. Based on telling people to do this and that…stand and sit…say this prayer and that prayer–this many times…move your hands like this…etc. Promising rewards for good works…etc. Just a bunch of rules…without the Love or relationship with God.

Well, I see a lot of pride in this type of religion–from the leaders and the followers…because it tends to be self-centered, works based religion…not a Christ-centered grace based relationship.

Jesus came to give me Life…not put me under bondage. This is what He says to me…

John 10:27-28: “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand.”

Romans 10:9, 13: “That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved….For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

John 5:24: “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.”

2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore if any man is in Christ, He is a new creature, old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.”

I guess I added all those scriptures just to say…Father God loves you, and Jesus came here and died as the Perfect sacrifice to save you…Why???
’cause He wants a PERSONAL relationship with you!
All you have to do is ask Him to save you…and mean it…and He will. I did, and He did…and now all things are new for me! I am in my Father’s arms!

oops…my comments getting to be like my blogs…way to long…sorry–I tried to be brief…oh well:)

  8. Stellybelly @ July 27th, 2008

Wow, this is interesting, we just spoke about this in church today. The Pastor talked about the gift of giving, and how we give with our hearts, expecting nothing in return. Most chain letters are like that……… do this and you will be richly blessed. ( Like turning $20.00 into $2000)He doesn’t work that way. In this case, I would not consider this a chain letter at all though! I think it is beautiful and I would definately pass it on! It should be christ all the time, not when we have the time. He is the reason for our existance right!!! He is our Savior!!!!! I say yes! Let’s not pass judgement on other religions and beliefs! Every one has a different relationship with Our LORD and in the end, only he will make the judgement call! Let’s all come together and worship Him, for in the end He is truth, he is the one who will set us free! Thank you Jesus, today is a wonderful day! We are all in this together! God bless all of you! Thank you Jane for sharing this, I love it!!! :)

  9. Stellybelly @ July 27th, 2008

Sorry, I have a correction. He is the one who has set us free!!! We have the choice to follow him or turn our cheek. Jesus Christ is Good! He is…. ETERNALLY REFRESHING! :)

Estel soooooo proud to be your mother! Not half as proud however as He is of your unbias feelings of any and all religions that lead us to Him, to salvation. Your non-judgmental feelings about others beliefs. And your acceptance of everyone as He would have it for He has done the same. You are soooooo right we are all in this together sista! Amen! Thank you Jane for inspiring me and my daughter allowing Him to bring us still closer together in our beliefs, our love and our special bond we share in His name. Love You sister!

I personally don’t like chain letters. I know Jane wasn’t posting this as one but the conversation turned regarding chain letters. I don’t like them because a person somewhere out there writes one up and then adds in “Send this out to 10 people are you don’t love God. If you are not ashamed of God then you will send this out.” I just hate that someone says if I don’t send something typed out that I don’t love God. My relationship with God is between Him and I and not someone writing a chain. I think God would rather me show I love him by doing something kind for others or by going to church and not just pressing forward to 10 of my friends. I also want to add that I am a Catholic and yes we do have rules in my religion. Alot of faiths do. And we are taught you should do these certain things. Sit, stand, kneel, whatever. But we are also taught about loving God. I don’t go to church simply to follow rules. I go to church because of God. I follow the rules because they all mean something. Respect to God. But I believe anyone can worship God in the ways they want. I like structure and rules. It’s not for everyone. But make no mistake to anyone who reads this. I love God, I worship God and in my faith that’s what I was taught. Not just rules. And some leaders of churches can do the wrong things. But they are human and humans make mistakes. I worship God. I don’t worship the leader of a religion. If he screws up well then that’s his sin. There are alot of leaders that end up doing the right things but those people don’t make headlines.

Thank you WW for making such a serious point about the rules of the Catholic church. Like you I understand and respect why they are there. As you said they are not just a ritual they all have a purpose, meaning. My God, our God does not take my/our “free will” away because He asks us to follow Him to reach our salvation. Just as the parent of a child does not take that child’s free will away when they ask them to obey the rules of their home. I am not in bondage I am as free as a bird, a butterfly because I have PEACE in my heart and in my soul. The PEACE that comes from only HIM. My religion is a “Christ” based religion and there is nothing self-centered about it or me. In fact my religion asks that I make many sacrafices to earn His love and respect same as He did for me by dying on the cross. He gives me much grace when I choose to follow Him and our relationship is based on love. His rules do not take away the love or the relationship with Jesus they are what bonds us together for all eternity. As it was already said it is not “I do not always feel spiritual but today I do so here is how I feel”. The walk with Christ is an ongoing one for me it knows not hours or days or weeks it is first and foremost in my life and always will be. I do not judge anyone nor do I ever cast anyone aside lest I want Him to cast me aside. I was listening to a priest on tv the other day talking about this and he said many do not like us, our church because there are so many rules to being God like and society is against all of them because they give control to Him and take it away from them. Society wants to rule its own destiny even if it means destruction, separtation, war and all that is evil in the world before it will be told what to do. God to them is a giver and a forgiver regardless of their actions. I do not forward the promises in such an email either because I too do not believe in giving to receive or threatening someone to have my beliefs. My example is how I lead others to God not manipulation. The leaders of my church do not manipulate me to believe either. I go to church to be with Him regardless of who is behind the altar. I do not judge other faiths and their leaders I encourage everyone to worship together so all be saved come judgement day. Yes my baptism is my salvation but that does not mean I can live a life of sin and expect to go to heaven if I am not remorseful at the time of my death. I am sorry that this was so long but I prayed all night that He would be my Defender and this is the result. I love you all very much regardless of your religious affiliations because together is how we are going to be saved not on our own.We are just taking different routes to get there that’s all! As long as we are all together and nobody is left by the wayside that is all He asks of us, it’s very simple. Love, your sister Linda.

I LOVVVVVVE this e-mail/blog. I’ve gotten it before in my e-mail. However, I prolly didn’t forward it. Doesn’t mean I don’t love God though. Doesn’t mean I’m not a “true follower” either. I’m not offended at all to receive e-mails like this, but I AM offended at being told I don’t love God if I don’t do this or that. THAT is laying guilt on innocent people and being judgemental to someone you may not even know. Now the reason I DON’T forward these type of mails (and I’m not just talking about spiritual mails, I’m talking about ALL the “forward this or suffer this consequence” mails) is because if I did, I would be spending ALL my time at work on e-mails and getting no work done. If something touches my heart and I want to share it with a special friend, then I’ll send it. If I don’t have TIME to, but I like it anyway, I’ll save it to a file for future use, but MOST of the time, if I send it on, I take OFF the “or else” warning at the end. Rubs me the wrong way.

Now stepping off my soapbox and honestly, I don’t think I’m going to go to hell because I didn’t follow instructions on my e-mails properly. LOL

Loved reading this e-mail again Jane. Refreshes me and gives me my spiritual breakfast today. :)

    Huggggggggggggggggggggggs,
    Shan
