Straight From The Heart

Dear Friends,

I have a question for you.  What are you hoping for?  What are you expecting in life? Are you looking for something good to happen or are you expecting to be disappointed?  So many people are feeling hopeless these days.  However, Jesus did not die for us to be hopeless.  He died so that we could be full of hope.

What is hope? It’s simply a favorable and confident expectation; it’s looking forward with anticipation of something good.  Hope is what keeps us from giving up during hard times.

The psalmist wrote, [What, what would have become of me] had I not believed that I would see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living! (Psalm 27.13). What if we were to give up today.

Our Father is good, and He has good plans for each of our lives.  If we will maintain our hope, especially in the midst of troubled and uncertain times, He has promised us “double for our trouble” (see Zechariah 9:12).

So refuse to give up hope. Start expecting God to do something–something good!! He is working in your life.  Sure you may go through times when you wonder will things ever change.  But that’s what hope is all about.  Maintain an attitude of expectancy.  Believe that God is working.  It doesn’t cost you anything to hope, but it can cost an awful lot to be hopeless.

There’s power in hope!!!

Good morning Jane…Out of life I do not expect. I take what is given to me. God let’s me see another day, and another day with my son, for that I am thankful. Everything else just falls into place. On June 22nd my son and I were involved in a three car accident on one of our highways. As my car was heading toward the guardrail, I said “God, please not the guard rail”. At that point I was able to regain control of my car, and pull to the side. If it were not for my Love and Belief in God for taking care of my and mine, I am sure more damage would have been to me, my son, and my car. God is Good. You have to be willing to accept that. I don’t complain, because there are so many people out there who’s lives are so much more difficult compared to mine. Some I can’t compare my life with. With that, I bow my head in prayer and Thank God for all (the good and the bad) he has given me. It takes me another step.

Well it’s a good thing I wore waterproof mascara today, cause I’m just a blubbering fool right now. How did you know Jane, that I NEEDED to read that this morning? How did you know that I have been on the verge of losing hope? How did you know that me reading this would put my perspective back in the place it belongs? How in the world did you know that just when I wanted to say “screw it, I can’t do this anymore” that I would actually log on here this morning when I don’t have the time and click on your blog to read?

Thank GOD for you my friend. Thank God…

    Hugggggggggggggggggggs,
    Shan

Jane, I have recently invested in another company because of you. Not by choice but by necessity. You see I now earn shares in the Kleenex Corp. because my mentor and bff Jane writes like an angel and inspires like the Holy Spirit himself. I swear if I hadn’t of met you this summer (which was one of the greatest days of my life), I would say that you had wings. Keep up His good work, I know He loves you dearly for it. Luv Ya! sista!
