What Are You Doing Today :)

Just stopped in for a little blog time :)  Hope everyone is doing well, its almost the weekend!!! YAHOO!!!

This afternoon my little sister and I will go to Chuck E. Cheese for games and pizza.  Its going to be hard for me because I love pizza.  I’ve already geered myself up to only have 1 slice.  I’ll drink lots and lots of ice water so I won’t be so hungry.

The walking is going well, thank goodness for my treadmill.  Hubby and I are doing better with food choices.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day full of blessings and love.  Remember God Loves YOU!! and so do I!!!

Chicken Soup for the Soul Anyone?

Life is a Dance

a movement of rhythms

a movement of directions

a movement of stumbles

a movement of missteps

at time slow & precise

or fast and wild and joyous. (Borrowed from “Chicken Soup for the Soul”)

As I sit here at my computer this morning I feel soooooooooooo blessed.  I’m so lucky to have this time…as I look for special cards for special occasions and special friends I realize just HOW LUCKY I really am in life

How do they say it??? when life hands you lemons just make lemonade :)  I really like that!!! makes me smile :)  I do believe most of us here have had our share of lemons in life!!!

My husband and I have recommitted ourselves today on our healthy eating.  We have definitely made a few slip ups “sigh”

He has gained back his original 10 pounds and my clothes are not getting any loser :(  So down we go again…but picking ourselves up and dusting off.

My mother in law and step daughter will be here on August 6th for a short visit. I look forward to this time with them.  I’m already planning some healthy snacks and meals.  My mother in law LOVES to eat!!! but hey so do I!!!!  I hope she will enjoy my choices of healthy eating.  She is a diabetic and hopefully will appreciate my efforts to cook healthy.

Can we please all remember to include extra prayers for our dear Angela.  My heart breaks thinking of her situation.  Let God be right by her side and help her through all the rough times.

Monday  —    Healthy Dinner :)

Tall Glass of Ice Water, Good Company of my Husband…The presence of God at our dinner table…and thoughts of all my dear friends here at BuddySlim.

Before I leave….let me share one more thing :)

People are lonely because they build walls instead of bridges.

Finally, let all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, loving as brothers, compassionate, humble minded.

1 Peter 3:8

Gods blessings and love to you all.  Eat healthy…Snack wisely…Walk quickly…and Love with everything you have!!!!

I received this e-mail—wanted to share with you

16.jpgGood Afternoon Buddys!!  Not too long ago I asked your opinion about receiving e-mails which asked you to forward them on to a certain amount of people.  Such as this “Send this to 10 other people and you will be richly blessed”

My responses were really interesting, some of you said they were offended and bothered by forwarded e-mails, others said it really didn’t matter.  The majority of people were annoyed so I chose to post this e-mail as my “blog”  Not forcing “anyone” to read it or forward it.  This particular e-mail was sent by a very very close friend whos response was “I’m annoyed by these types of e-mails”  LOL!! Isn’t it funny how we react to different things at different times!!

Anyhow…here it goes.  I found this to be an enlightening e-mail and for any of you interested I hope you enjoy :)

Subject:  FW:  Time for God

Read only if you have time for God. Let me tell you, make sure you read all the way to the bottom.  I almost deleted this e-mail but I was blessed when I got to the end.

God, when I received this e-mail, I thought…I don’t have time for this…And, this is really inappropriate during work.

Then, I realized that this kind of thinking is…Exactly, what has caused lot of the problems in our world today.

We try to keep God in church on Sunday morning…

Maybe, Sunday night…

And, the unlikely event of a midweek service.

We do like to have Him around during sickness…

And, of course, at funerals.

However, we don’t have time, or room, for Him during work or play…

Because…That’s the part of our lives we think…We can, and should handle on our own.

May God forgive me for ever thinking…

That…There is a time or place where…

HE is not to be FIRST in my life.

We should always have time to remember all HE has done for us.

If, You arn’t ashamed to do this…

Please follow the directions.

Jesus said, “If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father.”

Not ashamed?

Pass this on ONLY IF YOU MEAN IT!!!

Yes, I do Love God.

HE is  my source of existence and Savior.

He keeps me functioning each and every day.  Without Him, I will be nothing. But, with Christ, HE strengthens me (Phil 4:13) This is the simplest test.

If you Love God…And, are not ashamed of all the marvelous things HE has done for you…

Send this to ten people and the person who sent it to you? Now do you have the time to pass it on?

Make sure that you scroll through to the end.

Easy vs. Hard.

Why is it so hard to tell the truth but Yet so easy to tell a lie?

Why are we so sleepy in church but Right when the sermon is over we suddenly wake up?

Why is it so easy to delete a Godly e-mail, but yet we forward all of the nasty one?

Of all the free gifts we may receive, Prayer is the very best one…

There are no costs, but wonderful rewards…GOD BLESS!!

I really should have deleted the “pass this on” because that isn’t the reason I posted this.  I just hope anyone reading this enjoyed it as much as I did!!!

Sending Gods blessings and happiness to you all.  Hows the healthy eating going?  We are doing quite well today.  One day at a time!!!

Just wanted to say Thanks

Rolly 2 Big Hug You Rock Thank You Raise The Roof 1 Hey Buddys!!! I really have nothing fun to blog about today.  I’m almost took Deborahs title from her blog…I really have nothing to say  LOL!!!  Thats a rare thing here for me!!! LOL!!!

So this is a good time to give a big shout out to all my buddys. A big thank you for all that take the time to keep in touch…to encourage…and to send hugs!!! Each one of you is so special  to me.  You’ve all made my life more complete.

The weight isn’t coming off as quickly as I would like, but without you the scales would be going up.  You keep me on my toes….little reminders….little nudges…and lots of prayers…and for that I thank you one and all!!

Hope your weekend is fabulous!! just like all of you are!!

Have you had your Hug today?

Givin You This HugGood Morning BuddySlimmers out there!!

This is an excerpt from Chicken Soup for the Soul, I thought you might enjoy this today :)

Hugging is healthy.  It helps the immune system, cures depression, reduces stress and induces sleep.  It’s invigorating, rejuvenating and has no unpleasant side effects. Hugging is nothing less than a miracle drug.

Food for thought:

When have you needed a hug the most?

Who gave it to you?

I for one am such a big hugger.  My children are also.  I grew up in a family that didn’t hug often.  In my opinion its such an important part of growing up.  Little Talan loves to hug!!! He’s the type who wraps his little arms around you then his hand does the little “pat pat” thingy…LOL!!! You just kinda melt from his hugs!!!

So today is a lighthearted type of blog.  Getting reading to get my walk on the treadmill done.  Planning a healthy dinner and trying so hard to stay on track with my new healthy journey (I’ve strayed away a few times this week :(

Had my blood taken last week to check my cholesterol.  Waiting patiently for the results!! Hope they turn out well!!!  Hope everyone is happy and feeling healthy today.  Love you all so much!!!

I’ll take this one please!

This is the dog right here. Yup…Katelin was convinced I would buy her this dog at the Humane Society yesterday…LOL!!!  “I don’t think so young lady”  LOL!!!  Not at $150.00 per dog, not to mention your mother would kill me!!!!

But we had fun visiting with the dogs.  Last trip was unsuccessful.  The Humane Society had their doors open for a dog vaccination clinic, but viewing of the dogs wasn’t allowed.  We did sneak into the cat room and saw some rabbits.  But we wanted to see the dogs!! and dogs we did see!!

Normally we would go out to lunch.  Not yesterday, decided to stop and get a small ice cream.  Much cheaper!!!! I had the smallest sundae I could find on the menu….Katelin had some type of Shake with lots of strawberries.

We had fun….shopped at a couple of dollar stores and called it a day.  :)

Today is a quiet day here at home.  I’ll get my walking in (yes Tatiana I’m walking!!!!)  get some laundry and housework done.  Dad comes for dinner tonight, so I’ll be busy with that as well.

Hope all are happy and healthy.  Sending prayers out to my special buddys in need.  Love you all!!

A Pot of Chili?

And a houseful of family  :)

Thought we’d have a quiet weekend but turned out otherwise..LOL!!!

Phone rings, 9:30 a.m….daughter Angela says “Mom whatcha doing today”….”nothing”….”can we come spend the afternoon?”  “sure”

Phone rings 10:30 a.m……. son Jon says….Can I come over?  sure :)  then comes Chris.

Thank goodness for backup meals.  Always have a few extra dinners for days like this!! I made my infamous healthy version of chili using Ground Turkey Breast (instead of ground beef)  used V8 Low Sodium Vegtable juice for the base and lots of chili powder!!

The pot was huge!! I was ready.  After all the kids were here I sent my husband to get Dad since he really is enjoying Talan more these days :)

We ate, laughed,  and just had a fun day!!

Hope everyones weekend went well.  Did you exercise?  Did you eat good?

Before I leave, just wanted to share these from Womans Day Magazine

85 and Yes Still Smiling!!

WheelchairThis morning was really a wake up call….a reality check you could say.

My sister in law had a doctors appointment this morning so she asked that I come and help Dad with his insulin shot.  I thought he had been doing it on his own, but I was wrong on that.  I agreed…no problem I would come around 9:00.  I overslept…got up at 9:00 a.m., hopped in the shower and by 9:30 I was next door.

Dad greeted me at the door in his wheelchair, big huge grin on his face and the smell of bacon in the air.  The smile on his face was absolutely priceless buddys.  He had made himself bacon, eggs and toast and was getting ready to do the dishes.  All this from the wheelchair.

I thought this last episode with the broken hip, heart attack and sugar imbalance was the end of my Dads time here with us. He sure has proved otherwise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  What an inspiration he is to me!!!  To be 85 years old and still smiling is amazing.  Once walking, driving, going out to eat at least twice a week, and now only a few months later confined to a wheelchair, and he still remains positive and happy to be alive!!!

I believe many of us have disabilities…I for one have a bad heart which restricts my amount of exercise.  Some of us have asthma, or COPD…some are handicapped and in wheelchairs.  Some of us have been immobile for so long exercise seems literally impossible.  But if we keep the faith..believe in ourselves WE CAN DO THIS!!!

Lets all take a lesson from my Dad today!!! Be happy for all our blessings.  Be happy we are alive!!! Be happy we can exercise (stop that moaning and groaning  LOL )  Be happy we can choose healthy foods…and Be happy we have BuddySlim and all the incredible people here!!!

Love you guys!! Have a fabulous weekend!!!
