The Day After
the big holiday weekend! Hows all my buddies doing? Did we all stay on track like we planned? Or maybe we cheated a little bit
Today was a big day for me. 7 Days of South Beach, 5 out of 7 I gave 110% and 2 of those days I slipped a little bit. I’m so much more aware of everything and why I’m eating what I do. Food is becoming less and less appealing.
I believe South Beach is a healthy choice for my eating plan, I’m just finding the food choices to be very boring and monotonous (sp?) but…………………….Starting at a whopping 218 pounds last Monday, this Monday morning I’m down to 214 lbs. 4 pounds down, I’ll take it but I know I could have done way better.
Earlier in the week I had actually lost 5 “sigh” Oh well, week 2 here I come with a vengence!! LOL!!
Had Talans 2nd birthday party at my daughters on Saturday. Left our house at 10:00 a.m., picked her up at work, got to the house around 11:00. Started preparing the food and decorations. Company started coming around noon. We ended up with about 20 people, and more presents then you could imagine!! Had a ball.
We left around 3:30 and decided we DID NOT want to go home LOL!! So we went to the movies and saw Horton Hears a Who!!! Loved it Loved it!!! Got home around 7:00, stopped in to see Dad. Came to our home around 7:45, and started cleaning big time. At 9:00 p.m. I was still coloring easter eggs!!!
Easter morning up at 9:00 a.m., hiding eggs for little Talan to find. Putting turkey breast, ham and sweet potatoes into the oven. Mashed the potatoes, cleaned the asparagus, set the table, and here we go at noon. The house is filling up, and here comes my sweet baby Talan!!!
We got loads of pictures over the 2 days. He’s talking more and more each time we see him!!
For Easter dinner I ate only turkey breast and ham….lots of asparagus and a big glass of water. My poor husband just couldn’t keep his hands out of the candy dish…LOL!! I don’t seem to have that problem, my problem is bread…I DREAM BREAD!!!!
Ok buddies, I’ve babbled enough. Hope my buddy Jo was successful on her first week with South Beach…and any others on SB……and of course all my Buddies on what plans works for you. We all have one goal in common…TO GET HEALTHY!!!
I’m waiting and praying to see if today the 24th is my buddy Shanna’s BIG BIG DAY!!!
Love You Guys!!!

hehe… yes, today is MY day Jane… actually since 9:00 p.m. last night. I will admit, I’ve been very very anxious about today and even questioning whether I want this bad enough, but last night I had a pretty personal “defining” moment, and that’s when the cigs got drowned, the lighter thrown away, the other 2 smokers in my house were told to keep it strictly outside, away from me, keep their butts emptied and their cigs on their person and not laying around. This personal moment (no details) here, was my awakening.
Now for YOU missy… 4 pounds in one week is GREAT and you will probably see more than that at the end of this week if you stick to plan 100%. When I did Phase 1, I didn’t lose ANY weight the first week, but was 13 pounds down by the end of the 2nd week! So keep on keepin on buddy!
Huggggggggggggggs,
Shan
4 Lbs! Fantastic!! well done!
Good Morning Jane!
I don’t know where to start! First, I love Talan’s pic that you put up! How adorable. Second, way to go on a four pound loss! That is absolutely wonderful! Sounds like you had a great weekend! My time with Braden was wonderful as well! I thought of you while I was spending time with him, wondering how things were going with Talan, lol. Thanks so much for my booster note over the weekend as well, you are such a wonderful buddy!
I feel off the horse this weekend and ate some oreo cookies, and good ole Mexican tamales which were soooooo good but not good for my diet. So today I am getting back on that horse again and keep going.
CONGRATULATIONS on the 4lb loss!!! Bread is a major weakness of mine also, I know the feeling! You made it through another holiday with flying colors!! Yipee!!
WAHOO!! What a great stat - 110% for 5 out of 7 days with 4lbs lost - that is so great!!! And on both a holiday weekend and a birthday party weekend! I think you are doing so well! I bet those foods feel monotonous right now, but the next phase seems to open things up, yes? I bet some of these SBers can give you not so boring food tips
GO JANE GO!!!
Great job!!! You are doing so well already - 4 lbs is awesome! I just know you’re going to see a big drop this week too!!!
SB would be very hard for me as I love bread too. I really should try it, but for now I’m going to stick with what I’m doing because it is still working (and I get to keep the bread and potatoes, lol). If I get to a point where I need to kickstart my losses again, I think I’ll try SB… and you’ll be the professional I can turn to - yay!

Sounds great Jane, and 4 pounds is awesome, congrats!! I survived Easter, we really didn’t do much! Have a great day!

Awww, Jane. Not jelly beans on your home page!! I have craved them all weekend but had none around….had strawberries instead….really good strawberries. 4 pounds! WOW!! Way to go. Sooo happy for you. Even better next week . Can anyone lose more then 4 lbs. in a week? I think not unless you use a knife. Happy, happy for you!! Love, Marge
What do you mean you cheated twice??
LOL
You know what we’re doing is waaaaay better than what we had been doing before, so I say kudos to us both!!
Jane, sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. It really warmed my heart to read about your time with your family, how sweet it is!!
Congrats on losing 4 lbs. As for me, I lost about 3 lbs. week one, but don’t forget, that I did Atkins the week before, so I knew I was going to lose less. The good news is that I have lost 10 lbs. in 2 weeks (1 week Atkins, 1 week SB).
I agree with Shan, give it 100% this week and do your exercise and I’m sure you will see a pretty nice number at the end of Phase 1. I’m ending my Phase 1 on April 1st., how about you?
