A Little of This and a Little of That

Happy Thursday to all my buddys here at Buddy Slim! Back to the YMCA for my husband and I yesterday afternoon.  It felt good to be back but I must admit my legs were sore.  I’ve walked on the treadmill here at home, but somehow I seem to walk faster and harder at the Y!!! So we will work ourselves back up one day at a time.  Today is Dads night, but tommorrow is back to the Y!!

We did go out to eat at Red Lobster afterwards…I’ve read how Angela goes often and I couldn’t get Red Lobster off my mind!! THANKS ANGELA!!! LOL!!! (just kidding) but we had the broiled platters, with flounder, scallops, and sauteed garlic shrimp.  Ate most of the salad.  Walked away feeling full and 40 dollars poorer then when we walked in  LOL!! oh well such is life right, gotta live it up a little!!

We were very close to my daughters and it was my sons birthday, so we stopped in to see them.  Unfortunatly my son was sleeping (he works the graveyard shift), so I’m going to see him in a few minutes.  The baby was so happy to see us last nite, but WOW, this child just keeps growing!!! LOL!! You should see the belly on that kid….I hope the kids realize how important it is to teach him good eating skills right from the start.  I’m going to talk seriously about this to my daughter.

I’m preparing my kitchen and my mind for the South Beach Eating Plan.  Went shopping and picked up a few SB friendly foods.  I’ve given away the Girl Scout Cookies, and all the Easter candy (except for what I hid for my grandsons basket), throwing away the crackers..etc…

This will truly be a life change and I’m looking forward to this.  I’m scared to death of another failure.  Since BuddySlim, I’ve tried just about everything out there with no results.  But this time I believe I have the STRENGTH and DETERMINATION to do it!! YEAH!! YAHOO!!

Sending all my blessings, love and prayers to my buddys out there.  Wishing you all a successful happy day today.  Smile at everyone, open a door for a stranger, and hug your family and loved ones extra today!!! You are all so special and so loved!!!

*mouth drools for Red Lobster* I LOVE shrimp… any way you make it…

    Fried Shrimp
    Grilled Shrimp
    Boiled Shrimp
    Shrim Cocktail
    Bubba Gump Shrimp…

Don’t worry about Talon, although it’s GOOD to develop healthy eating habits early on. I remember Colton going through a chubby stage and worried about it, then he would slim up, then chubby up, then slim up… back and forth. Now he’s just tall and slender and all legs and arms and you can’t fill the boy up. He IS starting to pick up some good habits from his mother on the eating, which makes me so happy. Got him to eat an orange for the first time ever last week. I cut it in quarters and sprinkled Splenda on top and he loved it. He’s studying nutrition in Health right now too and that’s making him more aware.

I think… no… I KNOWWWWWW, you are going to do well on SouthBeach Jane. You stick with it for the first 2 weeks and it’s a SNAP after that. You’ve got the right attitude and your excited about it. And when you get to Phase 2 and your energy soars, that will be the momentum that will keep you going and asking yourself “WHY did I not do all this before?”. LOL

Have a great day buddy, and thank you SOOOOOOOOO much for all your kindness, help, and support the last few days. I can’t begin to describe how much it has meant to me.

    Big HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGS,

Have a great day and yeah you will SUCCEED my buddy! I have faith in you!!!

Jane, good job in the Y! Your heart will get stronger as you work big muscles in your legs and pump blood into your heart when you walk.

Try interval walking; it will speed up your weight loss and will make your heart train even better. Walk really fast for 2-3 minutes and then walk slow for another 2-3 minutes, alternate 5-8 times.

No pain, no gain Jane! Glad to hear about those sore legs! I haven’t been to Red Lobster in years. Heading to Hoss’s tonight. Hubby will get steak, I will stick to the salad bar and fish! Now you all have me thinking about South Beach, maybe if I’m not too busy today I will research it.

Oh I am so excited for us Jane. I would like to be able to prepare my kitchen like you have, but with an unwilling hubby and a child in the house, I can’t. Plus I read in the book that although children’s diets should include healthy carbs, they should not follow the SB diet! Guess it’s ok for them to have treats here and there…although to be honest, we don’t usually have a lot. Anyhow, why am I rambling on your blog? I can’t wait to see where SB takes us!
Say hi to dad from me!

Yum was just talking about Red lobster! Good jopb on getting your kitchen ready and the YMCA!! Love the pics, and the verses and quotes, always what I need to read!

INDEED, we do have to live it up a little once in awhile. We have but one life, I think.

All the best with your new plan Jane. I think as long as you feel satisfied, ANY plan can work. Cheers to you and cleaning up the house. Good to have mostly healthy choices around. Now what to do with neighbors who bring over treats ? *sigh* Hehe….
