Back to Normal…Is there such a thing?
Things are settling down here a bit. Dad was released from the hospital (at his demand (not very nicely either) on Tuesday morning. I received the call at 6:45 a.m.
We had expected coming around Wednesday at the earliest, and probably would have been Thursday for his own good, we needed the pneumonia to be gone but its still there somewhat.
So we had emergency transport (since he hasn’t walked the entire time in the hospital) and had Airway Oxygen come and set up a nebulizer. You see he is still sick and needed to stay in the hospital, but I certainly understand how he felt.
The most important part is now his home care. I believe he’s NOT ready to be with my Mom, he was just so sick he wasn’t talking like himself.
Soooooooooooo, believe it or not I’ve maintained my weight, even dropped 1 pound. My husband has done fantastic!!! We were eating out everynight, whether at the cafeteria in the hospital or at a restaurant. We tried to focus on healthy choices (although I’m a cheater sometimes…LOL)
Sad to say we haven’t been to the Y since everything started but thats ok, hopefully we’ll have more time now.
My brother and sister in law have agreed (or really have no choice) to help in the home care. Heck they live in my fathers house, rent free and have for over 3 years now. Its about time they do something right? They moved in to supposedly “HELP” out…yeah right, whatever. They said “well the house will eventually be ours, we might as well start enjoying it”…how crazy is that? Anyways this is how it is and God has given me amazing strength though this whole ordeal.
If there is a happy side to every sad story, the happy side is Alan and I finally have more time together!! YIPPEE!!! We still visit Dad daily, today I cooked at his house his favorite, eggs, bacon and toast. We have a visiting nurse, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and a Home Health Aide coming in for at least 1 month, more if needed.
I’m feeling positive, one day at a time. Looking forward to getting back to our walking. I hope I can somehow catch up on all my buddys blogs. Thank you all for your little notes and encouragement, I surely needed it…Love you all!!
God does not give victory over the world just to a select few. He has given overcoming victory to every person who believes in him!
