Walk, Walk and Walk Some More!
Good Afternoon Buddys! How was everyones weekend? Hope it was happy and healthy for all of you!
I’ve stayed away from the computer the last couple of days. Well can’t lie, I did peak in…”nosey me” LOL!!
Last week was a wake up call..kind of a slap in the face for me. I let myself get down and depressed for a couple of days, but I’m getting right back up and ready to fight even harder.
First thing I did was make a huge pot of homemade vegtable soup. Very healthy choice, and ate soup for a couple of days!! The family loved it and I have saved some in the freezer.
Husband and I have been really good about the YMCA. We started Jan 20th (Sunday) working out only 30 mins. We went 4 out of 7 days and yesterday we walked the treadmill for 40 mins, then rode the bike for 15. 55 minutes total!!! YooHOO…..thats big for me!!
Our goal this week is to try for 5 days out of 7 and at least 60 minutes each visit. I think we can do this, but if not we’ll just keep trying!!
Ok, need to get to my school work. I’m actually transcribing dictation right now and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!! I can’t wait to graduate and get employed again. I miss the socialization of working outside the home. Ok, here is the letter of the day.
Alphabed Soup for the Soul
Letter W: Wonder: A sense of wonder and awe are indispensable for spiritual growth. Cultivate daily a sense of wonder and awe at the beauty of God’s creation–the blessed sun, the gentle rains, the salty seas, and running streams.
Lots of special prayers are going out today for my buddys feeling down and depressed. I guess we have to take the good days with the bad days….but we need to keep our chin up and keep smiling. God loves you all, I love you all!!

You are doing great!!!!!!
Love to hear this Jane - all the working out is so good for you. And 55 minutes - that’s fantastic! Even if you only go for 20 it’s more than nothing! Have fun with your school work!!!
Walking is my favorite, safe, gentle, and fun exercise. I am happy to see that you have a reliable, responsible exercise partner in your husband.
You can make it to one hour Jane. Soon it will be very pleasurable and nice to walk.
Hey that soup sounds great! Good job on the workouts!

So proud of you! Your new habits will fall into place and I know you will progress rapidly. I love all homemade soups. Have you tried Split pea and potato? And lentils or barley? I am enjoying trying all kinds of new recipes. i don’t miss the dairy or meat, but I miss the grains….just say it Marge…. Breads! What a super husband you have! Ed and I always exercised together, with our nitro near by. Keep it up, love, Marge
OMG, your exercise regimen is admirable! It makes me want to get up and go…ironically, now that I have the will…I can’t, I’m sick to my stomach, so a trip to the gym is unacceptable!
Thanks for your neverending support and understanding!! You are the best buddy a girl could ever ask for!
Way to go Jane! I am so proud of you. I bet the soup was amazing and the gym… hmm….. makes me think that change may be good. Dance revolution OR the gym…. what to spend my money on??? Time will tell. Keep it up Jane. Have a great week!
