Out with the old In with the new
Food that is!!!
Time to dejunk the kitchen once again. How in the world am I ever going to stay on track with all these holiday goodies still lurking…..LOL!!! I need SELF CONTROL people!!! Its ok…Just had to get that out..”sigh”…. The candy is just about gone. Why don’t I just throw it away??? It would make it easier. I tried to pass most of it on to my son and wife but it sits on their coffee table, and everytime I come to my office…THERE IT IS….YIKES!!! Candy candy!!
See the advertisement of the book on my blog? Looks interesting…anything that says “No-Diet Weight Loss System” seems to catch my interest.
Before I go, I want to send out extra prayers for some of my buddies here today. They are going through some exceptional times, and I hope you know I am always here for you in my heart and with my strong faith.
Alphabet Soup for the Soul
Letter C Count: The phrase “Count your blessings” is often recommended precisely because it contains prodound wisdom. There can be no spiritual progress without taking time to recognize and acknowledge God’s multitude of blessings upon us. Advice comumnist Abigail Van Buren frequently told readers to count their blessings. “How’s your pocketbook?” she asked. “Thin? Well, most of the world is a lot poorer. No pensions. No welfare. No food stamps. No Social Security. In fact, one-third of the people in the world will go to bed hungry tonight. Count your blessings.”

These are great ! It really makes you think doesn’t it ! Thanks for being such a doll and sharing it with us ! You are a blessing to us ! Kimmi

I am trying, I am really trying to count my blessings today. There are so many in my life. It’s just one of those hard times in life. I want to put hands on and help my family but you can’t help sometimes, except by prayer and giving thanks. Thank you so much for your comment and prayers. DITCH THE CANDY!! Love, Marge
Yeah, there have been plenty of times I needed to get rid of all the bad stuff in my home. I needed to kick the sweet habit and the fat habit and sometimes I think it takes time and you have to take out the junk and fill up the house with good stuff. Good luck with all your goals today!
Jane, you DO make me smile my friend. Yes, we should all make it a habit to count our blessing daily. Hard to do sometimes, but we should all at least TRY every single day.
Now about that book. Sorry, I just can’t seem to keep my big mouth shut on that one. Yes, you CAN change more calories for less calories, but are those remaining calories even halfway HEALTHY? It’s like ordering a double cheeseburger, large fries, and a “diet” coke. LOL Yes, cutting down is a start and a step in the right direction, but eating non-healthy stuff will leave you lacking energy, and lacking energy will make you crave the stuff that you need to stay away from. It’s a vicious cycle. That’s why I will not pick up a diet book and read it any longer. And it makes me furious to see those magazines that have on the cover some skinny lady saying “I lost 20 pounds in 2 days with this diet”, then down in the bottom corner they have the gorgeous chocolate triple decker cake with the recipe listed on page so and so. LOLOLOLOL The marketing for weight loss just plain sucks in my opinion and January is THE worst month for it. Okay, I’m getting off my soapbox now. whew… got carried away there. If you want that scrumptious looking burger, why not just buy some good grade of ground beef, grill your own, put it on a whole grain bun with mustard, that beautiful green leaf lettuce and a fresh sliced tomatoe that you picked out yourself in the produce department? SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much more satisfying that those frozen half fat patties nuked in a microwave, thrown on a white bun, with “iceberg” lettuce and a tomatoe that is not even ripe, or red for that matter?
I’m with Marge sweetie. DITCH the candy, fill your house with the good stuff, and watch your energy soar and your pants start to droop. *grins big*
Ready?
Set?
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO….
Hugggggggggggggggggggggggs,
Shan
Sweet stuff is hard for me to pass up too! I just quit buying it. I use to buy it for the hubby and the kids but not so much anymore. Too much of a temptation. I wish you all the best Jane! YOu can do this!
We did that. I’m so glad it is gone! Good job!

Jane, I am loving the alphabet!
Thank you so much, for that and also for the wonderful, supportive message you sent me!! Argh!! Why do some people have to be so hurtful? But, I’m moving on!! Just wanted to say thanks!
About the candy…please, just throw it away!
the alphabet is really nice - thanks for sharing that! go for the clean kitchen. i can’t believe how GOOD it feels to throw things away that are bad for me. I read once that we shouldn’t be the garbage by eating what really we don’t want. instead use the trash. good luck!
I had to throw some things out but yeh somethings just have to stay *sigh*. Counting those blessings
Cheers to a good week we will have
