Home Again and We actually won at the Casino!!

Slots This was probably the best trip my husband and I have ever had together!!! We had so much fun, and even ate healthy!!

We left home at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning and arrived at the Casino at noon.  We decided to join the “players club” even though we seldom go.  What a smart move on our part.  The promotion for joining this particular day was 10.00 of gambling money.  We each had 60.00 and was given 10 more.  YIPPEE!!! 70.00 doesn’t sound like much to many people I’m sure, but for us we were elated!!!

Off we go.  First to the nickle machine (in the past it was quarter machines only)  Within less then 5 minutes and only 3 dollars later I had won $83.00.  Can you believe it!! and it was on the Casino’s free 10 dollars!!!

We kept playing and winning, after 4 hours of straight playing we walked out just shy of 200.00.

We had a beautiful room at the Hampton Inn with a jacuzzi.  Ate a healthy sub from Quiznos, had a couple of drinks and called it a night.

We are both gearing up for the healthy eating we will once again tackle.  This time, we will SUCCEED.  I have no doubt.  I feel horrible, I feel fat, unattractive and certainly unhealthy.  My poor husband can’t fit in his clothes anymore.  So TOGETHER…HAND in HAND…we will conquore this!!

Happy New Year to my special buddys here at BuddySlim.  Thank you for sticking by my side through good and bad.  I promise to be a better buddy in 2008.  Love you all!!

Has Anyone Heard of a New Program for Weight Loss Called Isagenix???

Huh? Question Mark Hello BuddySlimmers out there!!! Just wondering if anyone has ever heard of Isagenix.  Its a cleansing program, not a “diet” program?

My niece weighed almost 350 lbs, and was very very sick.  She was introduced to this cleansing program and has lost alot of weight.  I realize quick weight loss is dangerous.

So I’m hoping maybe somebody has heard something about it.  I want to support my niece with encouragement and  may even consider trying it.

Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

Tonight I took Jo’s advice.  I did ONE good thing.  I made a nice dinner for my family since we’ll be out of town tommorrow night and part of Sunday.

I cut my portions totally in half.  It was hard, because steak is my favorite!! But I did it, thanks Jo!!  and everyone else for your encouragement and motivation!!

The More You Eat the More You’ll Weigh….

Duh…what is my problem.  Both my husband and I continue to make bad choices.  He actually had the back of his jeans split.  He refuses to buy bigger clothes, I refuse also.

The next shopping trip for clothing will only be when we are a size smaller.  I need to be a FEW sizes smaller.

Time to get serious again.  Its my health I am hurting.   We will have our getaway on Saturday and Sunday.  After that I swear to myself THIS IS IT!!

Back on the treadmill daily (or at least 4 times a week)  Geez I’ve seen the results from so many of you here at BuddySlim.  You are amazing people and kept on track and stayed strong.  Once again I will be leaning on you for inspiration and motivation.

Love to you all and best wishes for a Happy New Year 2008!!

Is It Over Yet?

SadI love Christmas but I have to say I’m glad this Christmas is over.  This will be the Christmas I’ll never forget.

My youngest sons car needs a new transmission ($1,200).  This happened on Saturday—weekend before Christmas.  There concerned of course, thank goodness my son has this entire week off from work.  It will give them time to find a new car.

My husbands bonus was cut way low this year, although we were saved in other ways financially.  Thank you God for that.

On Christmas day my son in law (to be) (or hopefully not to be) decided he should have a few beers since it was the holidays.  We tried to tell him there were no alcohol sales on Christmas, but he said oh he’d find a store open that sold beer.  He grabbed my middle son and off they went.  I was already upset that he couldn’t go through one day without beer, let alone how rude it was to just up and go like that.  They were only planning on staying a couple hours for dinner and all

All of a sudden my daughter gets a phone call from him.  He’s had a bad accident, almost killed my son (came inches from a tree on Jons side of the car).  Wrapped the car around a tree, totalled the car.  Thank God they are alive.  All for stupid beer.   I was sick..my poor daughter went over the deep end.  Now they have no car, they still owe a few thousand on it.  They were also driving uninsured which is against the law in Michigan.  He received a ticket for $300.00 for driving without insurance…the car has been impounded and is costing money everyday it sits there.

I said a long prayer and put it in Gods hands which is what I do.  Told my daughter to have faith.  Maybe this was a wakeup call for them….drinking isn’t worth the headaches that come along with it.

Hope all my buddies had a great Christmas.

I did enjoy my Father completely this holiday.  We gave him a cell phone.  He committed to learning how to use it.  He lit up like a Christmas tree when he was opening his gifts.  To be that age and still smiling is a miracle.

I will pray for my children but I know how blessed I am…God bless all my buddies out there at BuddySlim!!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Night!!

Christmas Card All is well here in Michigan.  Snow is just about melted “darn”  We want a White Christmas!!!

Tommorrow hubby and I will pick up baby Talan and keep him for the night.  Today we went out with the crazy crowds and did some shopping.  I think we walked 10 miles total.  We had to park at the farthest end of the parking lots and we went to almost 10 different stores!!! LOL!!! Got my workout in Jennifer!!

My husband had his Christmas party yesterday on Friday.  They handed out the Christmas bonuses.  Unfortunately we count on it every year to buy for our 7 children.  The bonus was cut $400.00 less then usual due to a bad year for the company.  We were shocked.  Tried to keep a smile on our faces while shoppping today but let me tell you it was hard.

When we got home in the mail we received a check of overpaid child support for my husband.  Also 2 Christmas checks from my mother-in-law which equaled up to $400.00.  Is that a miracle or what?  Wow…blessed again.  Blessed to be alive.

Everyone, love each other this holiday season.  It doesn’t matter how many gifts you have to give, it matters that we are good to each other and respect and appreciate the relationships we have in life.

Eat healthy, all my Northern buddies, stay warm and drive safe.  All you lucky Southerners…enjoy the warmth!!! Love you all!!!

Shopping, Baking, Cleaning, Final Test….

Mistletoe 1 OMGoodness.  We need more hours in the day!!! LOL!!  Does everyone feel overwhelmed this time of year like I do?  Every year I tell myself I won’t let it happen, but every year its the same story.  Oh well, guess I must really enjoy it deep down or I’d change things right?  LOL!!!

So, I’m only in for a minute.  Still shopping, will need to wrap presents.  The baking is all done now, thank goodness for that.

The biggest issue I’m facing now is studying for my final exam which is tommorrow at 10:30 in the morning…YIKES!!! My daughter in law is taking her final exam for this semester right this morning.  Shes a nervous wreck. We decided our Christmas gift to each other would be passing our tests.  So prayers please!!

On the healthy eating journey….believe it or not I’m doing really well.  Haven’t been eating out at all.  Had a few cookies while baking, but the scales actually showed a 1 pound loss.  Slowly but surely!!!

For now I must go, so sorry I haven’t caught up on my buddys blogs.  As soon as my final is over I’ll be back on track!!  Love ya all.   Have a wonderful day!!

Never go to bed Angry

Peace Sign All night long I was complaining and whining about the doctors appointment I had this morning with my father.  I know I know…stop complaining and be thankful for what you have.

I overslept…didn’t want to get up….bi#$%ing all the time.  Well something happened.  I saw the love in my fathers eyes as I got into the car.  His warm smile and genuine “good morning honey”  just seemed to make everything right.

I know again why I’m here.   If you are going to give, always remember one important thing.  Give with a joyous heart!!!!! It feels soooooooooo good to give, but somedays we just get stuck in this rut.  Seems like life is overwhelming, but all in all we really need to take “each day” and live it like it was the last day.  We don’t have a blueprint for our lives, so BE HAPPY Today!!! Do everything you can and more.

One a positive note, when we have a doctors appointment my dad always insists on taking me out for breakfast.  I don’t always behave, but today I did and I feel happy for that choice.  Now I keep hearing my name coming from my treadmill..LOL!!!! Ok…so I’ve got to get my walk in.  Been slacking really bad these past few days..its time to get back in the game!!! GAME ON Ladies!!

Just a Cold Snowy Evening

Seasons Greetings here in Michigan.  Brrrr…lots of freezing rain and ice coming down.  Unfortunately my husband has an early morning (8:30 a.m.) doctors appt. about 45 minutes away….Grrrr…don’t want to go!

Haven’t been behaving myself these past few days.  Not sure why, life is good just a bit busy.  Seems food is everywhere lately!! Guess its just the holiday season, but the temptations seem harder right now.  But its ok, I’ll get back up again…I might keep falling but as long as I get back up I’ll win this battle.  WE ALL CAN WIN THIS BATTLE!!!

I did spend yesterday all day making Christmas cookies.  I still have alot more to make.  We love to give Christmas Cookie plates to our families and friends.  They really look forward to it.  This year I tried my hand at making homemade chocolote covered peanut butter candies.  They were “ok”….my daughter in law loved them!! LOL…but remember she is pregnant and loves ANYTHING with peanut butter!!!

So on this cold snowy evening, I’m hoping all my Buddys are safe and warm at home.  Enjoy yourself…smile alot and be HAPPY!!!

Another Day Closer

MySpace Christmas GraphicsTo Christmas!! Not one of my better days for good food choices  :(

Picked up my daughter and grandson this morning.  Off to the doctors then lunch.  We couldn’t come up with anything healthy that we both wanted but settled on Chinese since its been a couple of months.  Thought we deserved a little treat!! Well…treat we did!!  I’m not sorry….today was an amazing day spent with my family.

I realized today what a beautiful daughter I’ve raised.  She was asked by the nursing home she works for to be the hostess for the Christmas party held for all the residents family members.  They thought she would be a perfect little hostess because of her positive happy attitude.  The residents just love her and I’m sooooooooo proud of her.  She reminds me of how happy I was in my 20’s.  Ooohhhh how nice it was to be young!! LOL!!!

I also was able to spend time with my middle son and enjoyed every minute of it!! What a nice son he is…so thoughtful!! always smiling and ready to hand out hugs…”thats my boy”

And the baby…well we ALL know how much I LOVE that sweet baby Grandson of mine!! We went to Toys R Us and had a ball.  I laughed so hard my ribs ache.  Guess walking the store and laughing will have to be my exercise for the day, but I have no regrets.  I wouldn’t have traded today for anything.

I hope all my buddies are feeling as happy and blessed as I do today!! Sending extra warm hugs your way today!!
