New Weekend New Challenges
Its the countdown to the Weekend!! YIPPEE!! Can’t wait….no committments or obligations as of yet. We’ll probably do lots of yard work since the weather is just beautiful. This is absolutely the most beautiful time of year here in Michigan! You can smell Fall in the air.
One of my husbands co-workers grew pumpkins this year so he decided to share 4 of them. YAHOO!! I love pumpkins. We have so many pumpkin patches and apple orchards within 20 miles of our home. We’ll get the corn stalks up…load up with even more varietys of pumpkins and ghords. Does anyone out there bake the pumpkin seeds after carving? LOL!! WE DO WE DO!!! My daughter in law and I can’t wait for pumpkin night here at the house. My poor son just rolls his eyes..LOL!! he’s a little party pooper.
Well yesterday spent with my daughter and grandson brought on many challenges. I failed horribly. Went to Old Country Buffett and started with a healthy salad, but quickly changed directions with bisquits, gravy, etc.
I learned the hard way…feel yucky…really worn out. I made next weeks menu and it is diet healthy for everyone!
It should make the week flow much smoother. Hopefully the weekend will go well also. I need to work harder. Walking has become a nightly routine with my husband and I. Yesterday I walked Talan for 30 minutes up and down hills and sidewalks. It was a good workout and the babyloved it!
Happy Weekend to you all!!

Eating out is always difficult. It feels like since I control all the food in the house that it is my “safe zone”. Outside the house is a whole different ball game! I decided awhile ago that my kids didn’t need garbage in their diet either, so it is healthy family eating for MOST of the time. I will still splurge and get the kids a burger/fries every now and again, but for the most part, I don’t touch it! I found out my tummy loves me a lot better when I’m eating well. I keep a couple of cans of soup in the cupboard for evenings that I don’t want to eat what the kids are eating.
Eating out, I’m not sure what the solution is because it is always where I have more difficulty. The best thing I have figured out is that I don’t need to eat everything in site and a taste is usually enough for me. Try to eat one/two bites of the high calorie stuff and keep the majority of my other choices healthy and in moderation.
That sounds like fun. I also bake the pumpkin seeds after carving the pumpkins.
That is great that you and your husband are walking every night. All that you give is always a success. Keep it up.
Loving your walking and your planning. I have the first one down but the second one eludes me! Beebee’s buffet is great advice for all of us. I think I’ll follow it. Closely! Ellen
yes, eating out always seems to be a challenge but with time and practice, it gets easier to make healthy choices. I lov pumpkins too! We always take the kids to the patch and we come home and paint faces on them. We love it! Good job on your walking! Just keep at it. Have a good one Jane!
I love this!! Sounds like you guys are going to have a great time. I wish I got to do more of this stuff, but I’m a total city girl and not very creative with pumpkins…I buy mine carved! I know, I know, it’s HORRIBLE!! LOL!
We haven’t gotten our pumpkins yet! Sounds like you are a country girl too! I am a converted country girl, myself! I was a city girl, hubby a country boy! When we first moved to the country I hated it, now I would not trade it for the world!

Eating out now that is hard! I can do pretty good when I can order what I want, but not the buffets, just too many temptations! You did good just to hop back on track!
You go, girl!
Have a good one!
