Calling all with a good sense of humor!
This is for friends of all ages but it really reflects the times of those over 40. This was sent to me by my sister-in-law. I enjoyed it so much I just had to share with you here.
DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN?
All the girls had ugly one piece gym uniforms?
Nearly everyones Mom was home when the kids came home from school?
You got your windshield cleaned, oil checked and gas pumped without asking, for free every time?
Lying on your back in the grass with your friends saying things like “That cloud looks like a …”?
Stuff from the store came without safety caps & seals because noone had yet tried to poison a perfect stranger?
When being sent to the principals office was nothing compared to the fate that awaied the student at home?
Basically we were in fear for our lives but it wasn’t because of drive-by shootings, drugs, gangs, etc. Our parents & grandparents were a much bigger threat? But we survived because their love was greater then the threat.
Do you remember Nancy Drew & The Hardy Boys?
Summers filled with bike rides, hula hoops, bowling, visits to the pool and eating koolaid powder with sugar — doesn’t it feel good just to go back and say “Yeah I remember that”?
I was given a double dog dare to share this —- so tell me now HOW MANY OF YOU REMEMBER THESE ? ~~giggling~~
Candy Cigerettes
Wax - Coke Shaped Bottles with sugar water inside
Blackjack, Clove & Teaberry chewing Gum
45 RPM Records…how about Donny Osmond? Jackson 5 or Partridge Family??
Drive-in Movies, Tinker Toys, Lincoln Logs?
Jiffy Pop Popcorn in its ready to pop container (on the stove of course!)
Catching fireflies could happily occupy an entire evening?
The worst thing you could catch from the opposite sex was “The Cooties”
“Oly-oly-oxen-free” made perfect sense?
Spinning around in circles, getting dizzy and falling down was cause for giggles?
War was a card game?
If you can remember most or all of these, then what a wonderful live you’ve lived so far!!!!
I just loved this, I hope anyone reading this has fun with it also!!
Have a great weekend to all!!! Remember to stay on track…We can do this!!

I remember some of those things! Too funny. Thanks for sharing.
I am almost 41 and I remember those times
I lived in extremely small town farm country in WI
We did all that for fun before the vidoe game and Ipods I still have my 45s and my 33s
If we could have only raised our kids like that.
They don’t realize what they missed. I sure do and I miss it
I don’t remember any of that.
Signed,
Liar Liar Pants On Fire

Huggggggggggs,

I remember some of those! I guess that could mean that my Mama raised me right..LOL! At 21, I miss some of those things! But what really made me giggle is the one about the Drive in..We actually went to the Drive ins over Labor Day, I can only hope they stick around a while longer.
Thanks for the light hearted post, it was great!
OHHH.. I do, I do! Pick me for remembering these!
These things are still alive someplace in my memory.

I do remember those times. Things felt so good back then. Hopefully we can all give our kids good memories too even if it’s not the same type of things.
I remember all those things, but so do my sons! Lordy I am getting old. But such fun times and good memories. Thank you!! Smiles, Marge
I remember them all too. I have a few more. I remember never coming inside until the street lights came on and rollerskating around the blocks for hours with friends. The forts we made and the kickball games. Kids just don’t know how to have fun anymore without a video game. It’s too bad. Those were the days. Gosh I feel old now. LOL
I remember the cigarrette shaped gum!! That would NEVER fly these days! LOL!!
I am 24 yrs old and remember most of those things. I didn’t have uniforms for gym but I did have to wear uniforms to school. It was a cute plaid skirt with a banana yellow polo and black shoes. I loved the candy cigarettes with the red tips. I wish my son could have those memories too. I am looking for that type of popcorn, I think Target still sells them.
