The Calm Before The Storm
I will enjoy the next 2 days of peace and quiet. On Saturday afternoon my youngest son and wife and of course their dog (Pablo) will be moving in for 11 months while my daughter-in-law attends an accelerated 11 month nursing program. At finish she will be an LPN!! I’m really proud of them. They are giving up their apartment and lavish lifestyle for the next year. Amber will not be able to work so they’ll only have 1 income. We welcome them with open arms especially knowing its only temporary and they are really responsible kids (only 19 years old)
Here is the only problem I can see right now. The meals and extra food in the house is going to be the biggest test of all. The kids are both really Healthy looking…but indeed they are both junk food junkies…not a good thing. Although they exercise…lots of walks and sometimes even jogging they still have horrible eating habits. I’m not sure how to handle this as I have dejunked my kitchen…EEEKKSS…any suggestions out there??? I’m gonna need MAJOR HELP!!!
Don’t you ever just get the feeling like no matter what you try in life there are constant obstacles?? I realize we learn and grow from them but WOW…this will be tough!!
Have fun out there today….3 day weekend coming…YIPPEE!!
Happiness is inward and not outward, and so it does not depend on what we have but on what we are.

Well i suggest they go and get some of those plastic draw thingys and out that junk in there room, stay dejunked of just explain i am trying hard and keep it out of the house or join me on my jounrney, shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…………enjoy your eace now!!
I feel for you. My in-laws let us move in when my husband had to go overseas for 14 months
Here is what I did when I lived with them. We shared family meals mostly, but we kept our snacks seperate. They liked things I didn’t and vice versa. We had our own space in the cupboards and it worked out great.
Hope it will all work out for you.
Enjoy your calm before the storm

You will do fine. My hubby and I have 5 kids between us, so there is ALWAYS snack food in the house.

I have my own drawer that is off limits to the kids….they know if I catch them in there they are doomed! LOL
I find it very easy for us to have our seperate snack areas….if I don’t see it, I don’t get tempted.
YOU CAN DO IT!!!
Your a good mom. And yeap to what everyone else said. I have two grown sons (19 &21) back at home, and what we did was put the old refrigerator and microwave in the garage for them. Since the room they share is off of the garage its closer for them too and they can keep and heat up in there whatever they want without my having to see or smell it. They are welcome to join the rest of us for meals, but they are usually on the go and just grab something from their own fridge.
Love the quote. I am very happy to know that you are supportive of your son and his wife! That’s wonderful, there are so many parents out there that are not!! Thank God there are people like you around!!
